Looking for a blueprint to follow for your own diesel conversion? We've got you covered! Today we're kicking off another project build series, and if you liked the Subruno, you're going to love SHRAPNEL.
This is part 1 of our 4-part series in which we meet Joe and his 1999 Chevrolet K2500 Suburban Cummins Diesel Conversion project. We don't take on too many new projects these days since we're a purposefully small shop, but when we learned more about Joe we couldn't say no. Joe is a disabled Army veteran, former police officer, and current small business owner who reached out to us after seeing the Subruno series. He wanted us to build a similar rig, calling it, appropriately, Shrapnel. Joe and his family have an incredible record of service to our country and as a bonus, he's just an all around great guy with an awesome sense of humor and enthusiasm for days.
Joe sourced this vehicle and drove it all the way across the country for us to do the conversion. The Suburban is powered by a Cummins P-pump 12 valve a NV4500 transmission, exhaust brake, custom bumpers and much more.
