Hello, why didn’y you use epoxy for such a critical layup? Seems the better choice instead of polyester.

I would say it would be a bit overkill. The entire hull is made of plain old fiberglass and this section is now built up with 15 to 20 layers of combo and mat. An analogy would be using Oak 2 x 4's to build a structural wall. Better than plain old douglass fir studs, sure, but is anyone doing it? No way.
