In any port people always need a pair of extra hands. If you can sit at the helm, steer, and keep a look out you are very welcome. Just go to a marina and make conversation. You will be surprised what happens. I had quite a few visitors / crew that way.

Hey Jordan, you're supposed to simply "bump" the motor, when docking. Then you don't have to worry about this turning to port, because of the turn of the prop. In other words, you turn on the prop in drive, for but a mere second, or two, maybe half second. Then it's back into neutral. Then you wait. And drift. You use the momentum. When you get a good distance away from the dock, while you back up, then you bump it into drive and turn the wheel. Back to neutral. Bump it again. You learn to take it slow. The boat is so heavy that it has a lot of momentum. Just bump it into drive each time, for but a second, half second... Always be ready with reverse. To slow or stop your momentum. It's an art. haha. I am soooooo jealous. I wish i was in yal's shoes. Haha. My wife is afraid of the water. I was raised on the water. You are in my dream boat. Mark

Some of s sailors don't like "living the dream". Were just living. Living aboard has its ups and downs like everyone else. The ups are a bit higher and the downs can be a lot lower than land living, but still, living. We give up a lot to sail full time. We also gain a lot. But a dream, no.

Of course, just something us landlubbers think i suppose. Hells Bells, a house on the beach is work, any house is work no matter where it is. As a sailor on a DD four years during the Korean War, I really loved the duty, of course, it's not a sail boat, jus sayin, I loved the sea. I have followed Atticus from day one, so they have a fine sailboat now and totally enthused, and I'm enthused with them. I know they've worked very hard and I'm gonna cheer them on every time i can. If you don't enjoy sailing, then it's time to go ashore.

I am a huge fan of PEX pipe, however those “lockrite” plastic-type push connect fittings have not impressed me much. I am a fan of the brass crimp on PEX fittings as well as the shark bite brass line. One tip for push connect fittings is to mark the proper insertion depth on the pipe. They make a marking gauge, but you can also just measure. Fair winds! 💨 🙏

I would add that when subject to freezing conditions they are prone to ratchet along the pipe leaving these marks, if left they will ultimately push off completely. The pipework should be insulated to help prevent this.I would check the others for slippage.

When in Maine please visit dolphin Marina and restaurant they have slips and moorings with free blue berry muffins in the morning. Stop in at Quag Bay great place to anchor. Many spots There is also the Safe Harbor Marina previous known as Great island Marina all the way in too. Sebasco shores has moorings and a great restaurant. Further up that river is the Basin on the right side such a perfect perfect place to anchor. People call it the hurricane hole. Just a few places we like to visit. There are Manny many more. Boothbay, Bellfast etc
