Pull the turbo oil feed line off to see if oil is making its way to turbo, that'll tell you if you have oil pressure or not

You could take out the oil pressure sensor and screw in a mechanical oil pressure gauge to verify its making the oil pressure.
@tylerwebb49273 жыл бұрын
there is a check valve for the oil pump on the front of the timing cover, double check and make sure its not stopped up or sticking as it can make the oil pressure just bypass

Sounds like it’s got oil pressure, I’d go mechanical gauge

Take your oil feed line to the turbo off, take coil pack off and crank it over, you should have oil squirting out of the oil feed line, thats a sure fire way to make sure you have oil pressure without needing to rely on what could be faulty guage or sender unit. Hope this helps atleast put your mind at ease mate. Good luck with it.

i tried this way and still no oil coming out of turbo feed line ive even taken everything off as if its got no turbo so not remote for filter, bypass oil cooler etc ( oil feed is new and not clogged )

Some turbos need a restrictor to keep oil pressure in the engine try blanking off the oil feed line and try turn it over with plugs/coil disconnected and see if the pressure rises then. If it does just need to find out what size restrictor you need.
@InspiredExistenceAustralia3 жыл бұрын
it has a restrictor ive tried both ways with and without it plus blocked up the end to try it still zero

@@InspiredExistenceAustralia is there any chance you might have cut the oring for the oil pickup or left it off where it goes into the pump/block?
@InspiredExistenceAustralia3 жыл бұрын
@@bigrobbo93 i pulled the sump and pickup off again the other day thinking the same an replaced the oring and tripled checked it before it went back together so dont think its that
@bigrobbo933 жыл бұрын
When you had the engine apart did you replace the oil pump gears or re use the same ones? Maybe to check if there is actually oil flow try take the rocker cover off and crank it see if oil comes out the rockers. maybe there was a restrictor in the head which might have been left out during re assembly. if there is no oil in the top when you crank try go back to the old pump gears if you changed them.

@@bigrobbo93 fair call ill check it out but yeah i put new pump gears in it when i put t back together the old ones had some ware on them

Hey, can you let me know the tyre size on the Hilux 18 inch rims?

I don't know much about that engine but could have something to do with the oil pick up. Could just be clogged or something's? Idk to be honest love the build tho!

oil pickup is brand new and cleaned out before installing but cheers

I’d think that first start up would have been a lot ratlier if it had no oil pressure. I’d be cross checking that gauge. Take oil feed line off turbo, disconnect ignition and crank it.
@InspiredExistenceAustralia3 жыл бұрын
ive tried multiple ways with oil feed line but for some reason still zero oil pressure but will have a mechanical gauge this week an will see what happens then
