Hey, I’m thinking of buying one of these do I need the extensions or are they just recommended?
@3DudesRC2 жыл бұрын
@@adamhayhoe7532 Hey Adam, yes unfortunately you do need the extended body mounts. Otherwise the C10 body's "grill and tailgate" sections will hit the bracing for the front and rear bumpers. And then the mounting holes are way above where the body posts are. I wish you didn't have to buy them, but it is worth being able to use such a cool body, I hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions! -Cole

Dang this turned out really clean. Super cool to see it done step by step from the ground up.

After cleaning the body, i scuff the inner side so the paint will adhere better. I also drill the holes first before I start painting. One can should be good enough and 1 or 2 coats of white backing is all you need. Btw, love the way you edited the video!
@3DudesRC2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice! I didn’t realize until I had bought 3 cans of blue paint that it just needed to be backed in white. Now I know for next time though. I drove it around the yard last weekend and I noticed a couple spots were bubbling up or something, so I might have to try the scuffing technique on the next body. Do you just scuff it with sandpaper? I appreciate the kind words and thanks for watching! - Cole
@jlp-mtb13912 жыл бұрын
I use the green Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty Scour Pads that you use on dishes. Scuff the body good, once painted the scuffs will disappear and the paint will stick on the body much better.

That looks great! I just bought a used Traxxas Slash 2wd 1/10 and I'm looking for a nicer looking body. So far this is the nicest looking body I have seen. Is there any others that you considered?
@3DudesRC Жыл бұрын
Awesome! It’s a great looking body! But it is not very durable, lots of cracks and splits. I just liked the looks of it. I’m going to buy an extra thick stock slash body and paint it up next.

Super cool!!! For the shoo goo do you put the tape on first or the goo I want to do it to some of mine but I can’t remember what order to do it in
@3DudesRC2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! I always put the tape on first and put some blobs of hot glue, just to keep it stuck down. Then I cover it all in a layer of shoo goo.

I have a power wagon purple body that is still transparent with that same paint
@3DudesRC2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I wasn't very impressed with this paint, if you back it with a couple coats of white, it should make it less transparent. Hope that makes your paint job turn out better! -Cole

I keep on hearing about a soft spot with this proline body’s, is this true?
@3DudesRC2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the area by the step side of the bed seems to be a much thinner plastic than the rest. I haven’t had a whole lot of time to drive with the new body, so I’m not sure if there are any other weak areas. Let me know if you have any other questions! -Cole

Will this body work for the lcg nitro slash ?
@3DudesRC2 жыл бұрын
I can't guarantee that it would fit, but you should be able to make it work, just might take a bit of extra trimming. Hope that helps! -Cole

So, I guess it's not very strong. Do you super bash the truck or was semi gentle with it and had it still crack/split? Either way, it's probably depressing to sink so much cash into a body and have it crumble away. I was interested in this body for mine, but I think I'll steer clear of Pro-line.
@3DudesRC Жыл бұрын
I’ve hit a fair number of jumps with it. But compared to the original body I had on it, I went very easy on it. It’s a great looking body, but the durability is just not there. It was definitely disappointing seeing all that money go down the drain. Thanks for watching!
@DystrophicEvolution Жыл бұрын
You're welcome. Thanks for relaying the lack of durability and potentially saving other RCers the impending stress of having an expensive cover start turning into a regret. Do you think all Proline bodies are a scam? I can't stand the look of stadium trucks anymore, so I wish to give my Slash a facelift, but it seems that Proline offers the most custom bodies for the Slash.
@3DudesRC Жыл бұрын
@@DystrophicEvolution No problem. I would think most of the proline bodies are of similar strength. However, since the c-10 has quite a bit of detail and extra moldings with the steps and bed, maybe some of the more simple looking bodies would last longer. I can’t say for sure though as this is the only proline body I’ve tried.
