I'm in a bind; I installed these (Aukee H7) 18 months ago and one of them went out. The new version uses a different collar than the one that I've JB Welded to the headlight. Not sure I can remove the JB Weld without making the inside of the headlight 700 degrees, not sure I can drill it out successfully. I'd recommend using something else to attach the collar to future viewers. Aukee doesn't have a website and their only contact info is a gmail address that hasn't responded. I would buy another brand and spend more to save myself from buying a new headlight but I'm not sure how to find one with the slip-on collar with rubber gaskets.

Holy crap, I have on of these vans for work, and the stock lights are pathetic. I went and bought the same led bulbs to swap out. I saw another video on how to change them, but was worried how the connector would work. Then I saw this video. Great job guys!

Your local parts store in the US or Canada will tell you what LED brands you can use for headlights. Remember, H7 LED lights for low or high beams. H11 for fog lamps for east coast drivers having the fog light option.

That’s not how you remove the bottom piece or you will break the clips. You remove the external side first by pushing towards the center with a trim took, and the rest pops out. Do it in reverse to how you’ve shown here.

Good job but on the final LED install I didn't quite get what you meant about "both on the side and not up and down". Do you mean install the right and left headlight the same or something else?

Make sure that the lights are not up and down. Make sure the LEDs are pointing out to the sides.

@@surferchickay Even more confused. You're making a distinction between lights and LEDs. Aren't LEDs a type of light? I guess I just don't know anything about mechanical issues. That's OK. I'll learn someday when I have to do it. On second thought, I'm guessing you mean make sure the LEDs are installed perpendicular to the headlight body?

@@wvevie7612 The LED strips themselves as they have LED strips on two sides. Instead of a typical lightbulb which shines all the way around.

There are 2 kinds of headlight designs: Reflector...and Projection (look it up). The headlight assemblies on Promasters have Reflector-type low beam setups (the high-beams are Projectors). The reflector design requires that LED bulbs (which only have LED's on 2 opposing sides) be positioned with their LED's to the sides so their light will be reflected by the headlight assembly. I hope that's a clear explanation.

Adaptors weren't needed with this install. The headlights come ready to install with minor modification.

Led lights won't work with promaster vans they do work when car is off but when u turn it on it might work for a little then they go off u can reset but it will always go off you have to reprogram them

It's LED so ot doesn't matter.. halogen yes LED no.
