The Best Homemade Chicken Pot Pie Recipe Ever | Ultimate Comfort Food

Everybody will fall in love with this easy Chicken Pot Pie!! With a creamy chicken and vegetable filling lightly infused with herbs, this Chicken Pot Pie made with puff pastry can be served in individual pots or made as one big pie.
Chicken Pot Pie is perfect to serve up on Autumn/Winter evenings. Try the recipe, let me know how you find this! Can be served with garlic bread or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients:
500g chicken breast fillet cubed
220g of mushrooms brown or white sliced
1 medium onion
2 carrots
1 cup of frozen peas (250g)
500ml chicken stock
1 whole sheet of store bought puff pastry
6 tablespoons / 85g unsalted butter
1/2 cup or 118 ml of double cream
1/3 cup = 5 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon or 40g approx of plain flour
3 cloves of garlic diced
1 egg
1 teaspoon of:
salt
ground black pepper
chilli powder
dried mixed herbs & oregano

Hi Shamza, I tried your chicken pot pie today. It’s a bank holiday weekend and I thought ‘why not’. This is the first time I have ever made a pie and the first time I have used a puff pastry sheet! I copied your recipe but left out the chilli powder and I couldn’t believe how tasty this turned out!! It was that tasty that I ended up eating the pie on it’s own! The only thing I will do differently next time is, I won’t make it slightly saltier when I taste the mixture - just my preference. A suggestion for you, if you don’t mind - when you say ‘my heat setting is a 4’, please always state what a ‘4’ is on your setting. You normally do say ‘that’s a low to medium’ but sometimes you don’t. 😀 In the past, whenever I watched KZbin videos, they were always different videos by different people. You are the first person who’s videos I keep coming back to because your recipes are so easy to follow! I love the fact that you do Asian recipes as well as English, and you sound so posh (in a good way!) Thank you for sharing. I have subscribed to your channel. 😀

I did a few things different. Not that I thought it would make the recipe better, but just to use the ingredients I had at hand. I used half and half, instead of cream. I used canned peas, instead of frozen. I used chicken broth, instead of chicken stock. I used baby bella mushrooms. It still came out great! The flavor was just right! The baby bella mushrooms gave it so much flavor. Next time, I will use more chicken, and I want the crust to roll out a little thinner. It’s a great recipe. Easy for cooks with limited experience. I will make it again. Thanks!
