This was super helpful, finally managed to get a great electric piano patch going on my synth. Thanks so much 3 years later :)

IMO, every patch tutorial should go this deep. Gonna try it on my P6 soon 🙂 Thanks!

Excellent patch and tutorial. I've had the P6 for several years and this just made me fall in love with it all over again.

Great. I made the same patch following this tutorial. Perfect lofi vibes

That is a great sound! I prefer it to any of the “piano” factory presets. Many thanks for taking the time to make this tutorial. It was great to understand the theory behind the programming. I followed your directions and then made some tweaks to come up with my own Prophet 6 patch for the recording studio today!

Thanks! One great thing about making these videos rather than just sharing a patch file is that as people follow along they can easily tailor the patch to their own tastes and needs!

Excellent tutorial! This was really helpful. I recreated the patch on my Prophet 08 (original) and managed to get a very similar sound.

great patch! and lovely video. If I had one suggestion it would be to try and use "o'clock" positions when describing your settings. That way folks can just listen along & program (and you won't have to worry about your hands blocking anything). great stuff!
@LachlanVines3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I might try “o’clock” positions in future videos

Most beautiful synth Rhodes sound I‘ve ever heard. Have to try it on my Rev 2. Get well soon! A bandaged hand is torture for a keyboardist; I had surgery on both in a row.

Thanks for clearly explaining how filter tracking DOESN’T consider osc pitch. I’ve programmed p6 sounds that require the octave setting to be in a certain place-but never knew why, never understood how the synth “thinks” about tracking. Also, hope your wrist is starting to feel stronger…

Hi, thanks for the video, I just purchased my first ever Prophet6 and I don't get how you get started / how you get to the first initial sound you are using to then get to your sound patch. My 109 bank sounds very different and if I start from scratch I don't have the sound you have at 3:00 Thanks!!
@maxwittebol Жыл бұрын
Amazing sound you got there, thanks for the tutorial! Will try this out on my p6. I was wondering if the lick you play at 18:13 is from a song? It’s feels familiar but I don’t know what song it would be

Beautiful patch congratulations. Just a question: How do you get the release without the amp realease?
@LachlanVines3 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if this answers your question, but it might just be that I’m using the sustain pedal?

I was able to create the sound on my P6 following the exact process but when I get to the LFO the sound totally changes and sounds different from yours. It sounds off key and too wavy. I tried making more subtle adjustments on the frequency knob and initial amount within the LFO but I have to turn off Freq 1 and Freq 2 (I click the buttons so the Red light is off) to return to the warm beautiful sound. Can anyone explain why this is happening? Why does my LFO make the sound unpleasant? Beginner here! Appreciate all your tips!
@LachlanVines Жыл бұрын
This may seem silly but have you checked that the mod wheel is set to zero? Mod wheel is hardwired to the LFO so if it’s turned up, turning on the LFO can make things go wild.
@voiceofyasmeen Жыл бұрын
Ok so that was def it! I put it down to zero like yours and it sounds much closer! Thank you!!!!
