Mike, thanks for all your knowledge. It costs a fortune to learn what we can learn from you for free. Ain't America great. I have learned so much in just a few minutes. You go into real mechanic detail. The science. I luv that. Because that is what I need to know to fix motors right the first time. Not the third time. God Bless You! I like them old Evinrude 2 strokes. Those old aluminum or pot metal props were easy to tear up. Daddy was always worried about shearing a pin or shearing the prop as he said. Great stuff to know.

Good video a couple yrs back I was wondering about my little "72" johnson it came with a 2 blade prop but I noticed that others the same but of slighter newer vintage had 3 blade props. so I checked out all the info specs part #`s of the motor parts everything I think rated rpm at speed the whole 10 yards. So I put a 3 blade on and as you said there was very little difference in the hole shot and as far as top speed I think that was the same. I did take into mind that I run a jon boat and they take an extra half a horse power to move them along.

Not all outboards turn clockwise (or righthand) Most of them do but there are some older a few that run left hand props. Old Tomas and Eska motors use left hand props.

Great video. Any idea where can I find the screw on hub for a 1957 Evinrude 18 hp 15020? Can you get by with a nut from Home Depot? :)

I just started watching this and just the analogy you did to describe what they call "pitch" so we mortals can understand the concept is already better than all those videos done by "experts" including the big Marine names here in KZbin. Big thanks to you for these Master educational videos.
