Can you recommend good neighborhood and affordable homes & condos area in Dallas? Looking to move from S. Cali, came back from visiting Vegas low cost of living & no state tax but job market sucks only casino jobs. I do want to visit before moving to Dallas & I have friends that moved out there already. Thanks for sharing this info.

Great video! However, I don't agree that Dallas Public Transportation is a con. You don't need a car in a city with light rail, buses, shuttles, Uber, and Lyft. I have lived in cities with less access to public transportation than Dallas. I've done my research on Dallas Public transportation. You can make it work. If you don't drive don't move to areas with less access to public transportation. Dallas has light rail trains that go to both airports. Love Field and DFW.

Thank you for sharing your perspective! We definitely see your point!
@Aggie4life773 жыл бұрын
I agree with your point. I think when people talk public transit, they automatically compare it to NYC. This is the south lol! Sure most people will need a car down here, but with the rail lines that places like Dallas and Atlanta have are extensive for the south!
@tictacs43 жыл бұрын
True you can make it work and they have built out the light rail as much as possible, however most people use uber for a reason other than for work (due to the running cost). The buses often don't run on schedule, they don't stick around for long, and you wait about 20 mins between transfers(quickly adds up). They don't go everywhere (usually close enough) and sometimes you really have to plan out a route in a very convoluted system. I find the bus routes so counter intuitive that unless I'm planning one route to work, I just find it a headache to use for daily travel. The main problem being how spread out Dallas is, and the trains(which are pleasant to use) are not likely to hit up exactly where you're headed. Don't get me wrong its a solid transportation system if you do your research, its just not a replacement for a car.

Main con: crime and the number of homeless I have seen on DART. My vehicle has been broken into twice since I have been here since July. Considering going back to the Houston area.

I’m in Portland, Oregon and tired of the rain and cold. I thought about Arizona but the thought of meeting a scorpion changed my mind. I have also lived in TN and there were centipedes in the house. Huge ones! Lol. Are there any creepy crawlers that are constantly in your home due to the weather?

This guy is full of it! Dallas is a dangerous place to live. The weather sucks in the summer. The traffic is horrendous, people have shootouts in the the middle of the road. The roads will eat your vehicle. Cost of living is not an improvement from most places, what you don't pay in state tax they get you elsewhere. People... are all over the page here, some nice some looking for what you have to steal and others looking for a handout! Homeless and crazy people seem to love walking around in a daze. Dallas has two seasons very hot and brown and ugly. I have been here for 4 years and hate it and can't wait to leave.
