Aesthetically and musically speaking, those levels were definitely amazing. And bonus points for being the last game with a full new set of worlds. However, design-wise, I only like about 2 levels per world frankly. The rest are either too short (such as Tropical Resort Act 4) or just plain boring (basically any level with the yellow springboards).

Some of the mini bosses were actually quite hard and deserve to be on this list. Those were the two big purple shrimp robots that chase you, and the dark energy sphere in Asteroid Coaster. Especially the Terminal Velocity shrimp robot was really hard! Also, it is more fun and faster to beat the bosses with the wisps, especially when you can use Drill to slam into the two ship captains. One of the best uppercuts ever and it feels so good!
