With this, he gets turned to stone regardless of where he is, over lava, about to fall into lava, anywhere. And it is done by evil no less. With the one in Mario 3D land, he also takes one certain shape, but in this he is turned to stone in whatever position he is in. There are a few more facts why this is dark but I don't want to rant any more.
