Trumps inability to read even the most basic sentences is why I believe that Trump's "winning" speech" was actually one of his most honest speeches as it was written, but Trump mispronounced "Whining" as "winning". What's funny to me is that in the interview, Tillerson didn't seem to really insult Trump so much as just acknowledge that he does things differently than Tillerson would himself. As Secretary of State it was Tillerson's job to explain how they could go about doing what the President wanted to do in foreign policy. "Pretty undisciplined" and "Doesn't like to read" aren't damning insults. I'm rather undisciplined myself, plenty of people don't particularly like to read, and I don't know the ins and outs of every treaty and international law, but then Trump went and just lashed out at Tillerson for the whole thing. Saying that someone doesn't like to read isn't tantamount to calling them an idiot. Saying the someone needed correcting on how international law works isn't saying they are stupid, just unaware. But Trump blew up like Tillerson had just spent an hour insulting him to his face. Calm down man. Also, Trump has never admitted to making a mistake. He always doubles down when he misspeaks. Remember Covfefe? He insisted everyone knew what he meant, even though HE clearly had no idea what he meant.
