Prosecutors seeking death penalty in death of Malinda Hoagland

Chester County District Attorney Chris de Barrena-Sarobe said prosecutors will pursue the death penalty due to the level of torture they allege 12-year-old Malinda Hoagland suffered at the hands of her biological father and his girlfriend.

The death plenty doesn't detour people from committing crimes. It actually costs more money to taxpayers having someone sitting on deathrow and all the legal procedures. Rotting in prison for the rest of your life is much worse, then an easy out with death plenty.

Every time there is a story about child abuse there is always a prior CPS investigation, a suspicious parent, or evidence of abuse and yet no one does anything to keep this from happening!

From time to time I wonder if the death penalties of ages past had the added impact of helping to remove bad genes from the populuation.. Sort of a natural way to remove bad gene mutations. When even robbery was a capital crime, it had to have an impact on both behavior and the procreation of people genetically predisposed to dangerous crime. We overlook the fact that "beyond a reasonable doubt" became a legal standard during a time when guilty meant execution.
