Prospector Mining in Star Citizen 3.24 - What Has Changed?

I do mining with ROC without problems one thing you need to do when trying to sell goods - drop all gems from the box onto freight elevator and rise it (all ore stack's gonna split) , then send it down to local storage here we go! Now you able to sell it now on commodities terminals sry for my engl

You know you can swap out the MISC cargo pods for MOLE cargo pods? It gives you 48 SCU. Ask someone for a MOLE to lend. Bring it outside the space artimice zone, inside your cockpit press Alt + K, go outside in space and remove the 4 pods, get your Prospector to the site, Press Alt + K, swap the pods for the Argo ones, press Alt + K again to lock them. Now you can make real money and a longer mining experience!

I think the point of the external saddle bags is the fact that they themselves can be emptied while attached to the ship.. So when we store our vehicle in the station, the 'workers' can empty the materials to be refined without removing the bags.. Its suppose to function this way which is why the saddle bags dont even attach to the grid. I think the only thing they should change is to make the collection part the same as all other cargo. .U either pay to get autoloading or physically move them into your ship from the freight elevator

the saddle bags are removeable and have been removeable before this update, i believe you need to go into the pilot seat and open all doors to be able to do it though

The bags do attach to the new cargo elevator however.. as is all things PTU.. it sadly is bugged. they sink almost completely through the elevator and are very difficult to remove once placed

The pods are supposed to be swapped. The idea is you stay stationary in astrobelt with prosp or mole and do your mining. Another ship is commuting between you and the refinery or later refinery ship. So you can go on prospecting and mining and the cargo will be swapped... like the huge harvester on the field swapping the wheat with other vehicles.

In an armistace zone, you can't use the two handed tractor beam. It seems to treat it as a weapon. But you can use the multitool. I had to learn that the hard way when trying to clear the buffer of my Reclaimer after selling the initial lot crates.

Right alt + K to unlock bags from the cockpit, they count as hardpoints not cargo atm.

And as time goes on, mining just becomes more and more tedious and less and less profitable over time. I love mining (Prospector, ROC, and Hand), but CIG is adding more and more steps, making it take longer to make a few aUEC without bumping the price up for mining. Should I spend 2-3 hours on a reclaimer hauling Construction mats for 2 million aUEC or 2-3 hours to make 200k aUEC. Also, sitting in the Prospector you press alt+k to unlock parts from a ship and then use your tractor beams. And turn off shields too? Not 100% sure on the shields part at the moment.

Yea, I’m seeing that lots of citizens never look back at ROC or Prospector mining after they unlock the Vulture. Which makes you a lot more in one hour then what you can make with mining unless you stumble into crap tone of Quantanium. And ohhhh didn’t know, thank you!!!!

@@zirHazeGaming When crafting comes online, mining will be the only way to find the rare materials (with grades of quality) required to build things with advanced blueprints. It will become lucrative again, this is just a momentary lull before the new content

Mining is a time consuming endevour - even without glitches and bugs - so thank you so much for making this video! Part of this game loop is not yet phisicalized is the case that players cannot chose the box size of the refined materials. Hope CIG will give some love to mining soon

If you want to take a few extra steps, you unload your chosen hauler ship of the cargo and only ship and sell with specific refined materials at a time to maximize profits.

For Roc mining you have to drop them one by one at your feet then tractor beam them all one by one on to the freight elevator, lower the elevator, go to the terminal inside at the mining outpost then select your location then sell. Takes forever tho. Idk if its worth the time. But i was able to sell all my gems that way.

Nah. U can lower the box with gems on freight elevator, then get all gems out of the box and load them onto the freight elevator, then lift the elevator and send it down again Now u able to sell it normally sry for my engl

You have to go sit in the pilot seat and UNLOCK PORTS. Not sure what the default keybind is. I haven't been able to swap bags with mole bags or store-bought 12scu bags at all in quite a while.

You can sell bags that have been put on the Elevator. Also to remove the bags you have to unlock your ships ports. Right Alt+K.

I dont think you have to unload it if it allowed you to select where to sell it from and the ship was an option. unless when you do that if you still have to unload it from the ship after the sell

It did not detect the ship because the ship was not yet in the hanger probably I assume. If it is on another planet, you can not select it.

I mine and load up my MSR with the refined materials. Each run with the MSR yields me about $500K. This takes 4 mining runs with the 48 SCU bag upgrade from the mole. That's about a million bucks every 1.5 - 2.0 hours, including travel time to sell the refined materials. I can deal with those profits. So far, it's the best money making scheme I've come across. Plus, I find salvaging extremely monotonous, and mining is a bit more satisfying, but to each their own.

I've mined a lot back in 3.14 and before. Tried it in 3.22 and for me it looks worse now. Constantly lagging, rock's constantly exploading and you can't control power normally. And i can't find how to move beam with mouse. It's just not fun for me now.

Surely you can see what a huge waste of time this game ended up being. Almost 5 hours of gameplay, to sell a mining box for minimum earnings… that won’t buy you anything of significance in game…meaning you gonna have to do the same thing you just did for like 5.000 times, again and again and again to make money…wow…so much fun! Congratulations…that is the state of multi million game in development for 10 years now…so…keep praising developers, buy expensive JPEGs and take pretty screenshots. As I said. Star citizen fans will always be remembered as the flatearthers of the gaming industry.

Mining was my thing and its been redone and redone and is now broke. Good job CIG. You conned plenty of people out of their money.
