Thank you very much for this great review. I have spent time looking for the right acoustic guitar for me, and after watching this review I have decided to get this guitar which is on offer at the moment. I have an acoustic channel on my boss katana amp, and hopefully I can make the right adjustments through that to get a decent electric sound on this guitar.

i bought a guitar(prs angelus A60E SE accoustic) and had realy big issues with the body so they changed it - the 2nd they send me had a crack between the body and the neck.. i email prs,and they were just sad that two guitars had issues(they are chinese by the way) and not cheap..

Other than the difference in the back and sides, what is the main difference betwwen the A40E and the A50E?

None, back and side wood as you said (except the inlays etc).

The orginal PRS SE Angelus is the BEST(the one with no model number). I don’t understand Paul R. Smith why he discontinued the orginal SE Angelus production. Which was 1 of the best new acoustics in the decade. Most of the new SE Angelus models are kinda dispointing... IMO opinion
