I’ve had an A60E for a couple years now. Have a Martin 000-28 and a Gibson songwriter progressive, both beautiful and expensive guitars. The PRS A60E is absolutely beautiful and fantastic both price point and sound. It stays in tune amazingly. Absolutely a fantastic guitar and on the stand next to my couch. Not that ignore my Martin or Gibson but love this guitar. Less than half the money. A steal for the price. PRS takes care of its customers in every way.

Really loved listening to you putting this PRS through the paces! But I’ve got to admit, I hit the subscribe button when you started singing, too. Fun stuff, and a great demo! Thanks!

Thanks for the excellent introduction. I preferred the A60e. I felt that it had wider dynamic range. The Angelus and Tonare prove the design point that the job of the sides and back are to act as the frame for the speaker cone, in this case the top. From a physics perspective, a stiff back and even stiffer sides drive the energy into the vibration of the top, so a wider range and less loss of overtones. I had bought a P20e and returned it because it sounded flat to me. I should have tried miking it up but I suspect that would have just added colour. I am curious why you chose in the demonstrations to use the microphone signal rather than the “improved” Sonitone, but I’m not complaining. For me, piezo pickups all sound like they have a nasal problem and want to drive an ice pick into my ears. Thanks again for the straightforward presentation

Thanks for checking out the video and glad it was helpful! We basically never use the pickups in acoustic guitars for demo purposes unless we are specifically showcasing the pickup its self. Like you mentioned, piezo systems in particular have some limitations and don't really properly represent the tonality of the guitar in many instances. We think that using a good mic will give you all a much better representation of the overall sound of the guitar of course. We were actually hoping to do a video specifically comparing the new PRS voiced sonitone pickup vs the old one but sadly didn't have the two versions in the shop at the same time.

Can you do a comparison of a Taylor 814ce and the A60E?? I used to own an 814ce and it sounded beautiful. Sold it for a Kemper and now I’m back in the market for an acoustic and I love PRS guitars

I’m debating between the T40 and A40 and it seems like the differences are that T40 sounds better but A40 has a cutoff although I’m not sure what is better about a cutoff, would you say they are desirable?

I’m a huge prs fan. I played one of these at GC and it felt great but sounded just okay. I’d like to see a core line acoustic with intonatable bridge line fender did on the early 60’s King.

I’m about to buy an A60E as I think it’ll sound great in my studio. Some might say it’s an unfair comparison but I own and play an Ovation Custom Legend shallow bowl and I’d love to hear them in a comparison on your channel.

Great review and comparison of the different models. In Australia I can't get hold of a T40e to play but have had a quick strum on the A60e - it felt and sounded great for the price. There are so few guitars in stock at the moment where I live that I've spent days driving around to different stores in the city to try the guitars I like. Makes comparison difficult though. What are your impressions of the following guitars as comparison to the PRS T40e and A60e: Taylor 210ce, Takamine P1DC, and Fender PD-2203 (both the mahogany and sitka spruce top versions).

For the price I’d say a PRS is the best choice. If I had the money I’d buy a Taylor V-Class. The resonance from the new bracing is Outstanding. Unfortunately the price is well beyond me that’s why I’m happy about finding the older PRS at a steal of a price. Not much of a fan of Takamine. Unfamiliar with that Fender sorry.

I bought a used PRS SE A10e for $150 in excellent condition. Not as fancy as the latter models but the all mahogany top back and sides give it a very warm tone. PRS, excellent guitars.

Does PRS not make any core model acoustics? I only see SE and Private Stock
@ishguitars

Sadly that is correct. They did make core acoustics for a short window of time but you really don't see them too much anymore even on the used market.

I'm really fighting the urge to buy the a60e, but I still haven't seen you guys duel it out with its competitors. Can you guys do a video with it against a Martin and a Talyor? No, not the $10,000 models 😂😂😂. Something comparable? Great video! Cutaways please.

I've been looking over the PRS line up and had my eye on the a 60 as well as all of the other Angeles into nari so I've noticed that there were a lot of them for sale and reading descriptions on a lot of the wholesale websites musician's Friend Sweetwater in like that I see that if that price range a lot of them are in a lot of them have been returned there are some other wholesale websites that have great quantities of returned a 60s and I've read a few reviews where they've boxed in in less than perfect condition so I've also started looking at some other guitars that were solid wood under $1,000 have you done a comparison on any of these I ask this because the way you do your videos is so excellent by breaking down the guitar its similarities and it's line and its differences I would love to see a comparison that you've done in similar fashion on solid wood guitars under$1,000 specifically looking at Epiphone masterbilt line

Bought the A50E. Does the 2022 version have an upgrade against the 2021 version? Also can you comment on some sites claiming these to be limited edition as only 100 made? Is this to do with the colour choices as I purchased the charcoal burst. Cheers buddy BTW lovely review/presentation. Guitarist was a pleasure to listen to.

These guitars would probably cost a lot more if they were made in USA. That said… I’ve been lead to believe solid wood back and sides is “better.” Why laminate in this line of guitars? Would the sound change if solid wood? Would the price be way higher?
@steelbuchannon852
@steelbuchannon852 Жыл бұрын
Laminate is a cost saving measure and as the SE line is a budget friendly series, having laminate keeps the general price south of a thousand bucks. The PRS core line of acoustics use solid woods and they cost about 10+ grand

They're making some really guitars in China nowadays. A lot of companies are moving their imports there cheaper cost in labor, but still pretty well made by the brands specs. PRS, Epiphone, Jackson are a few that are building more and more in China

@@mikefinley4367 I make my own guitars in my own garage in the US.. but I have quite a few guitars from China, Epiphone, Kramer, Jacksons and now a PRS they're all great. If you want a USA made PRS shell out thousands. All you're really getting for the price increase is the fact you can say it's built in the USA, which today doesn't really mean anything other than the higher paychecks they pay their workers in the US to build the same guitar.

How do these compare to a Martin d18 or d28?
@ishguitars
@ishguitars Жыл бұрын
A USA made Martin like a D-18 is going to be on a different level than any Chinese guitar - but as far as Chinese guitars go, the 40 and 60 series of these PRS come very close for a fraction of the price!
