If a killer was smart, they'd have killed Makoto or Kyoko who are the biggest threats in the Class Trials.

The first case involved Sayaka who didn't want to kill Makoto, and Leon who decided to kill after being spooked. The second case was a crime of passion between Mondo and Chihiro. And the latest case could only work if: A. Celeste had an acomplice B. Taka was killed because of Hifumi's emnity with him C. A specific person could be pegged as a killer due to a definable trait, in this case Yasuhiro's height of 6 ft. D. Only two people would be killed So there was really know way for them to include Makoto specifically in the murders.

i really disliked celeste at first, i was super pissed she killed off taka. however, i really liked her motive, it tied into her character really well. i also liked the confusion bewteen taeko yasahiro and yasahiro hagakure. it was a pretty small detail in the grand scheme, but it left an impact on me. finally, her dropping her accent and admitting defeat was just incredibly powerful. her last words really made me question if she deserved to be executed so awfully. it was pretty obvious she was the culprit, she objected pretty often, but still. this case is the one out of all three games that managed to avoid third case syndrome, and pulled off a satisfying murder case.

5:13 "The Illuminati" ...I think my brain just died. From laughter, of course, because that was just so out of place and ridiculous even in a crazy game like this. In a previous chapter of this playthrough, I jokingly made a comment about Byakuya confirming the Illuminati. It's like the game read my mind. With that out of the way... whoa. Okay, so in this chapter we have our first genuinely villainous perp. I had my suspicions about her from her introduction, even suspecting her to be the culprit in Chapter 1 at first. She was immediately established as dishonest by virtue of being the "Ultimate Gambler," and through her suspiciously non-Japanese name, which even at the beginning Makoto questioned. Plus she was an Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette and frequently engaged in Finger Tenting, and had RED EYES. You know what those attributes say? They say "I'm evil, don't fuck with me." Her shadiness only intensified as she proved herself capable of telling convincing lies without even flinching (she fooled CAREBEAR-SENPAI for crying out loud) and when she briefly lost her shit with Hifumi during the milk tea scene. Yes, I mentioned before that that scene was foreshadowing something later, and given the role of Celeste and Hifumi in this chapter, I suspected that was gonna finally play out. I was right. Celeste made Hifumi her bitch, just like before, but to far more dire ends than just milk tea. Watching her behavior throughout the chapter, and particularly how she was quite a bit more vocal and contrarian than normal during the trial, it soon became clear she was the one. Seeing her go batshit insane as her lies shattered around her was gloriously terrifying, and her confession at the end... "Are you asking me to feel guilty? That's a pointless endeavor. I think nothing of sacrificing others for my own ends. I feel nothing." And what are these "ends"? To... live in a castle, as borderline royalty. All of that elaborate calculation, all of that cunning, planning, killing, deceiving, was for a completely selfish and petty hedonistic desire for power and luxury. Celeste is a textbook psychopath, through and through. Out of all the perps so far, she was the only one who can be said to have earned her death. Would've been better for it to have been at the hands of someone actually qualified to pass judgment on criminals, though. You know, someone who isn't EVEN MORE OF AN INSANE BASTARD THAN EVERYONE HE COULD EVER POSSIBLY EXECUTE? Now, the ending. Sakura's the spy...!? *M. Knight Shyamalan:* _WHAT A TWEEST!_ And, oh, I guess it really WAS a creepy bald guy. Or at least, I couldn't see their hair from under the headmask. The hell did he do to Makoto? Is this that "despair disease" I remember reading about? Is it the same as what Monokuma "did to [Kyoko's] body"? Gaaaah, 2manyquestion4me. Seems I'll find out sooner or later.

You know what I find disturbing about the voice actors? The one doing the teddy bear is the same voice actor for a character in Doreamon called Sneech for the english dub. (and I think Doreamon's english voice actor is the same as the bear's in the english dub of the game's adaptation) Kinda funny the same actor plays the role of adorable cute childhood friend toy-thing and is the voice actor of a demonic robo bear. And Yasuhiro's english voice actor is the same english actor for another Doreamon character called Big G.

Celes is the prime example of liking a character based off their design. Sorry Celes fans, this girl is literally awful. She murdered in cold blood (and showed no remorse for it) so she could buy a castle full of vampires. Seriously? Is she a goth 12 year old? She was also willing to kill EVERYONE so she would get her castle. I mean, she looks cool and all, and its pretty funny seeing her range from calm to crazy, but she totally deserved the truck.

I find her to be very intriguing. I do not like characters based on wether they are a good person. It is like when people favor a villain over a hero. Some people just prefer characters that are more interesting and have depth to them, rather than the boring detective goodie character like Kyoko or Naegi. She has an interesting motive, personality, design, and overall is very fascinating. She was very invested in her dream, knew what she wanted in life, and she knew how to get it. She could’ve also had problems as a child, which is why she puts on the princess personality. I also think of all of the murders, she had planned it out the most. She may have been selfish for being willing to kill everyone for her castle, but really, if you had a choice, most people without a doubt would consider killing other people to save themselves. Some people wouldn’t, and that’s okay, but Celeste would, and that’s what makes her interesting.

don’t get me wrong, celeste’s plan was incredible but it was kinda obvious she would be the culprit. in fact she was my first guess before the trial even started. plus it didn’t help that it was she was the only one being stubborn and trying to persuade everyone in another direction during the trial and not helpful or believing in the slightest.

Did anyone else find this trial and even the chapter to be really weak? I could accept how the game made it so obvious Celeste was the Killer, but so many things just weren't executed well or even logical. Having Hifumi come back to life after he had died for example was particularly bad, and something I just can't excuse(the body Discovery announcement even occured before he woke up). As far as the trial goes, many of the explanations for the conclusions that were made were not very concrete: -It is possible for someone to kick a dolly without seeing their feet. It would be somewhat difficult but not at all impossible. -Why did no one question how Hifumi knew Celeste's real name? She didn't tell anyone else so why would she tell him, especially when having that information out will put her at greater risk of being discovered? And why did they assume that he was still referring to characters by their last name? It's not unreasonable to assume that people who are on the brink of death won't follow their expected habits. If he had were thinking clearly, it would make more sense for him not to call her by her real name in order to clarify that it was indeed Celeste and not Hiro. And this isn't a direct criticism, but I would like an explanation; How does Kyokos "Two Murders" line directly contradict Celestias statement regarding it being impossible for there to be an accomplice? And also prior to all of this why wasn't genocider Jack tied up? Or in prison? They are a well-known serial killer! Why would they let her run around freely?!

1- Monokuma couldn't predict that Hifumi would come back to life, so that's why the body discovery announcement was made before he woke up. 2- But it would take a lot of time, and anyone could have spotted them. 3- She told him before the killing game even began. 4- Because each accomplice could murder someone. That's what they said.
