Pre-ordered a month ago. People complaining about the price, I don't get it. It's going to be one of - if not the best available when it launches. People spending $1000 on a video card but oh a complete gaming system *AND* next-gen VR for $1300 is a bridge too far...?
@森里螢一-f3c2 жыл бұрын
You do know people who spend $1000+ on video cards typically are not console gamers right…PC gamers and console gamers sometimes just can’t co-exist…Plus with the current macroeconomic environment, even gamers who used to play both are trying to be cost effective(why invest two systems when u can get most of it from one)
@jovan_spasovic2 жыл бұрын
1300 for VR + the console price which may vary. You're getting into 2000 dollars. You can buy a Quest 2 cheap and get a nice pc which will handle VR great for that money.

Brad I highly doubt it would be sanitary for many to test the included earbuds at a loud ass trade show. I'd rather know that higher end audio is a worthwhile an option or not. The thing about added costs that nobody talks about to me with the Quest 2 hype, is that it comes with a shitty headstrap, stock faceplate and lack luster built-in audio that they don't factor into upgrade costs. Not to mention if you pile on extending the battery life. And or buying a USB-C Link cable for PC streaming and or a decent wifi router for wireless streaming. I don't know, $950 for a working foveated rendered eye tracking HDR VR system with haptics on everything including the dual-sense controller for even regular gaming sounds like a bargain to me.

@@claytonyoung1351 couldn't have said it better. I just got a vive face tracker, and I had to jump through all these hoops just to get it to work with my Oculus quest 2 wirelessly whilst still letting me use my vive trackers and index controllers. This was such a pain because my vive trackers used to float everywhere while face tracking was in use. That, and my SteamVR is being extremely buggy. Whenever I try to play SteamVR via air-link or VD, SteamVR just decides to freeze whenever loading into something or when opening menus. For example, SV freezes when starting up, opening VRChat, loading into a new world, and opening Google Chrome or other apps. It freezes for like 2 minuets and goes back to normal. This doesn't happen when I use a link cable, so I'm inclined to believe my wifi might be the issue. I have great wifi, but recently things have felt slower, so maybe that's the problem. For spending $1050 on a great console system and an optional vr add on this is still below prosumer grade pc vr cost. Sony is playing a long game again here. And if you wern't around or forgot about their bluray win then you probably didn't learn that. The specs, the entry level price point and where both target the market are what's important to point out here. Every other option is either too far above or too far below price point and/or performance. I'm pretty sure they're on to something again. It's possible here that once pc mods come out to take advantage of this low cost high quality and feature rich headset that non ps5 owners might flock to it because it will be good enough at the right price point. Remember, this is SONY. They have a high standard for quality, innovation, and putting their weight in places that gives themselves and consumers no other better options.

Brad, I'm SO grateful for your impressions 👍. I had a PS VR1 headset, a PS4 PRO and a load of games. But the artificial blurring between native frames (basically the AI/artificial image reproduction) literally looked like seeing double-image trails during fast moving scenes or fast movement, and kept giving me serious headaches after a couple hours, to the point of feeling nauseous. I know there are perhaps quite a few PS VR1 users who don't experience this, or are not sensitive to low frame rates (in the VR context of frame rate requirements of course). Some games had those problems much worse than others, and I think it has something to do with how high the native frame rate of a particular game is, as it was never a 'VR legs' issue, IPD adjustment issue, or faulty headset issue (I had tried two PS VR1 headsets after sending one back to Sony). I even went so far as to buy prescription lenses for about £75 from VR Wave for the headset. But ever since Heaney from Upload VR and that dude from Kinda Funny Games mentioned from their hands-on that PS VR2 still has this issue, I've basically been holding back. I'll try this headset out before taking the plunge on the console and headset as I would only want it for VR. Understandably, if some or most people don't experience this issue, that's actually a really good thing and I'm glad that they will be able to enjoy this headset to the fullest. Unfortunately for me, it's *definitely* not a case of 'looking for faults', as many others who don't experience this issue simply like to chalk it up to.

Sadly Bradley doesn’t understand what Sony is doing with the haptic overload in the start up: Just like astrobot was a showcase of the dual senses haptic capabilities im assuming that’s why the haptic overload is happening in the start up of COTW

Also the earbuds situation: Same shit they did with psvr1 demos was using the gold series headset, but the earbuds are great I use em more just out of convenience when I played psvr1.

With PSVR1 you needed to face the camera at all times, which meant you had this cable hanging from the back of your head, going across your side (or between your legs) to where the console and camera are placed in front of you. Am I right that with PSVR 2 it doesn't matter which position you're facing? So you could face opposite direction of your console which eliminates having a cable going along your side, which prevents getting entangled with your hands during quick reflex games like Beat Saber (and less pull on your head)?

The reason why they use headphones to people trying it in the booth is mainly for noise cancellation and hygienic reasons. Earbuds would get dirty quickly.

i skipped out on the first ps vr cause i knew its a prototype product to gather data to improve ps vr 2 although ps vr 2 is also a prototype as well and i dont think there will ever be a final complete build of a ps vr but for the price is reasonable. i never tried a vr before so this is all new to me, already pre ordered the ps vr 2 so i cant wait to finally experience the vr immersion

Why is everyone complaining about the “PlayStation VR Headset” not being PC compatible? It will most likely never be compatible since Sony want customers in the PS Store and which is where most of the profit will come from as I truly believe that they are losing money on the hardware but are hoping to make money on Games and Software.

How was the HDR? I might be wrong but I believe the PSVR2 will be the first headset available to the consumer with a HDR screen. How are the black levels and overall contrast and colour? How natural is the vibrancy? Cheers Brad.
@SadlyItsBradley2 жыл бұрын
I feel the vibrancy was taking so huge artistic integrities (same as the non vr horizon games) so it’s hard to judge that aspect. But I felt the color space was really notable

@@SadlyItsBradley Were the Blacks 'true' black this time around, or were they a dark shade of grey like with the PSVR1? I just wish they could eliminate motion judder and blur completely.

I’m gonna get one for sure. I got the psvr 1 in 2021, and the exclusives like Iron Man VR, Blood and Truth and Astro Bot Rescue Mission are incredible. It seems like Playstation is just turning all those good things up to eleven. It’s gonna be a huge upgrade with games like Horizon Call of the Mountain, Re8 VR and GT7 VR! Especially considering this is just the beginning. Talking about the price, it’s not unreasonable imo. It’s gonna provide experiences and technology that are equivalent to those of a pretty high end pc VR headset. Pcvr costs a lot more to setup. So, considering it’s specs and the games it has, psvr2 is not unreasonable.

Already preordered my psvr 2. I couldn’t give a damn if people like psvr 2 or not. I’m stoked for it. I loved psvr 1, but with even better resolution, tracking and controllers this will blow psvr 1, quest 2 and even the index out of the water. I don’t agree with your comments about lack of contact. There are around 30 games at launch, which is far more than other console at launch.
