I personally have the cap card output to my main monitor. I change the source on that monitor to that HDMI. That way it reduces the controller input lag. My OBS is on a second monitor. I know not everyone can do this, but it’s what works for me. Also, I use a wired controller.

You monitor the audio through your computer, not the PS. Even if you’re using the PS5 headphones, they will have to be plugged into the computer because the audio is being output through the computer

in OBS 27.0 the Elgato doesnt capture both gameplay audio and chat party without Chat Link Cable since PlayStation doesnt support dual output at the same time like Xbox does! so i believe that your video didnt cover all the steps for streaming to OBS through Elgato on PS4 which will either capture the gameplay audio to your Headphones by setting it as output in PC or capturing gameplay audio to your obs and use headphones for chat party! kindly correct if im wrong!

The elgato never capturef both gameplay audio and party chat audio without a chat link. It was due to output settings of the PS4/PS5. I did cover the advanced audio options as well in regards to monitoring. This video was also made before the official release of OBS 27.

If you’re talking to chat it’s your computer mic setup. If you wanna chat with friends on your PS, I would recommend using discord. If you wanna chat in game or private chat, you’ll need an Elgato chat link cable

Make sure the cables are connected properly. This usually that solves this issue. Right click the source and make sure the elgato is selected too

Good question. It could be a few things. One is your HDMI cable. Another is that you could have two audio sources outputting the el gato (the elgato source and the desktop audio source). You can go into advanced properties for audio and make sure you set the elgato to “monitor only.” This prevents the sound from “doubling up.” Let me know if this helps

Try running OBS as admin. Make sure you’re using a good HDMI 2.0 (if possible). Make sure the Audio settings on PS and the Elgato app are correct. Adjust the elgato app settings to see if they change the delay

Absolutely, I use my Switch too! Just make sure to see your preference to a switch in Game Capture (use the settings wheel). You don’t have to worry about disabling the HDMI setting in the switch either.

Make sure when you select the Video Capture Device in your sources that you double click on it to open the properties, go to "devices" and hit the drop down and select the capture card. If that doesn't work, unplug the cap card and plug it back in, go to capture card source properties in OBS and hit "deactivate" and then "activate."

You need to go into your audio settings from the top left of your OBS. Make sure your system audio is populated on the audio output settings

hi! i followed all the steps for my ps4, everything works when i connect my hd60 s+ through the elgato setup, but right when i switch over to do the same with obs, just a black screen pops up after following all your steps. i’m also doing this on mac, does that make a difference? all my wiring is correct, so i’m unsure why it’s just showing me a black screen for my capture card source everytime on obs :( i also checked out your other replies and tested those out but nothing is working at the moment. do you have any advice? thanks so much!

Apparently issues with the Mac start with allowing microphone and cameras in your Mac settings. Make sure you have that enabled. It’s under system preferences> security and privacy.

That you don’t have any other sources such as a screen capture that are turned on and are positioned above your capture card source. Make sure that you have a good connection through the game capture software for your capture card. Right click on the source go to properties and activate and deactivate and see if that helps. These are just a few steps that you can try also, make sure that your cabling is correct. If you follow the steps how they are in the video everything should work.

@@gamecopent3699 if you’re having trouble, try using the 4k capture software. It might be better compatible with a Mac. Additionally, try checking the sound settings in your Mac and making sure the Elgato is recognized as an audio device

Your internet is the first thing it could be. Ensure you have at least 5MB upload speed. Second is running OBS as admin (if you’re not you need to). Next is setting up your output settings accordingly. Lastly is your equipment. I have videos about zero dropped frames and video settings if you wanna check those out. What doesn’t work? The reason the screen changes is because the elgato layer goes to the top of the sources. That’s why you see the PS5 screen. You drag the elgato source to the bottom of the source list
