PSA is most likely not liable for anything. it's just the way lawyers file suit. if you tripped on a crack of the sidewalk in front of your neighbors home. the lawyer would name your neighbor, the city for not maintaining the sidewalk, the company that poured the sidewalk, the cement manufacturer, right down to where the stone was purchased from. the more people named, the larger the money pool, and the easier it is to settle out of court because many times, it's less expensive to just throw money into the pool, than it is to hire lawyers to fight. it's total B.S., but it is the way the system works.

Back in the mid '70's a young man was flying a control line model airplane on a property he was told not to fly on as it was unsafe due to overhead power lines. He did a wingover, hit the power lines, and was zapped. The family sued everybody even remotely related, the manufacturer of the control line handle, the control lines, the model airplane kit, the model engine, wheels, the fuel tank. There was some generic hardware they could not prove who made it so those suppliers didn't get sued, but everyone remotely connected was sued. That's how they do it. Doesn't matter than none of them made the young man fly there, doing something clearly unsafe, but sue anyway.

Blackwater Worldwide came into existence as an online retailer in 2019. They are based out of Concord, North Carolina, with a Type 7 and Type 8 FFL. Their website does have house branded 9mm listed as Made in America. The recalled ammo is listed as "Poly Wrapped Steel Sabot Slug" and the conical shaped nose of the ammo is perfectly primer sized and a couple pictures show it sticking up a little bit above the hull. Google shows the ammo was sold through different retailers, including Optics Planet. I cannot find an image showing where it was made, but one of the shotshells shows 22,5 gr on it, which implies overseas manufacturing. In America, we would have used 22.5, not put a comma there like many overseas countries do where shotgun ammo is produced. Long-winded rambling aside, this falls on Blackwater Worldwide and whoever made the ammo (since I believe it was made overseas and imported), nobody else. The pictures I am seeing would have had the same risk in any tubular magazine shotgun. It's the same reason one does not see hard, pointed nosed 30-30 or 45-70 ammo. They are primarily made for tubular magazines too. I can only hope PSA and RIA get to recoup attorney fees in that part of the frivolous lawsuit.

It sound like that reporter need to get sued for defamation. Defamation refers to the act of making false statements about another person that damages their reputation or causes them to be held in lower esteem by the public. When a reporter makes an outlandish or false statement with the intent of swaying public opinion against someone, that would be considered defamation. The key elements of defamation are: 1. A false statement of fact about another person 2. Publication or communication of that statement to a third party 3. Fault (at least negligence) on the part of the publisher 4. Harm to the subject's reputation If a reporter knowingly or recklessly publishes false, damaging information about someone, with the goal of turning public opinion against them, that would likely constitute actionable defamation under the law. The person defamed would have grounds to sue the reporter and their news organization for damages.
