The greatest British band since Roxy Music and Field Music. My 82 year old mother took my Every Valley and War Room CDs to her church friends to play, tears all round.

J. Willgoose Esq. is a genius. This is an exquisite song from a fantastic album. It’s so raw and emotional and REAL. A flashback to the past. It’s utterly genius. Would love to see this album performed live.

When you look at the state of British music these days, it's so brilliant to see a band like Public Service Broadcasting completely break the mould. They effortlessly give us beautiful music.

Mainstream British music is NOT perfectly fine. Have a listen to the autotuned charts and come back to me. No one is going to convince me that we are in as good of position that we were back in the 20th century.

There's something quite emotional in this song, and it really moves me like no other song has done recently. It's like it captures this transition of humanity from analogue to digital, where it feels like we're giving up something up of ourselves as we do that. Tracyanne's voice is like the defiant human spirit trying to stay alive in the face of it all. The breeziness of the song makes it sound really crucial and important, too. That's how I hear it. I like it a lot.

Personally I can't help but hear her sing "I believe in Progress" when I see the news and the shit that goes on. You have to keep believing in the progress of your life and that of others just to make it through to the next day.

@@jamiesmith2865 I think this song in some ways represents the dream of the National Coal Board in the 1950s and 60s. Technology and humans, labour and government working in perfect harmony, under enlightened socialist planners. The dream didn't last. Under the pressures of prices and politics, it could not hold.

Public Service Broadcasting is the millennial generation's Boards of Canada. A band unfathomable and brilliant. PSB alongside Sleaford Mods are two of the best most recent bands coming to the music scene after music died around 2008 or 2010 for me.

I love this song. I used to play in on repeat years ago when I was in love with my ex-girlfriend. I know that the song is about scientific progress, not about love. But the vibe of the song is one that is highly optimistic, so optimistic in fact, that you might only feel it during the early stages of a romantic relationship.

Ok, i think i might have a genuine problem here. I think i'm literally obsessed with this song. I must play it 5 or 6 times a day and it just isn't getting old. The whole feel of this track is just so infectiously joyous and uplifting. J, Willgoose esq is incredible. I honestly haven't been this excited about a band since the last truly great wave of British bands were around at the height of the indie rock movement in the 90's. Hope they come up to Manchester soon, they would rock the roof off of somewhere like The Apollo. I'll be there for sure when they're up here next!
