I'm a huge fan of your products and content! That was impressive you got those consistent speeds with both bows, no doubt due to the upgraded slide cable rod system!

I’ve got a tapped out ‘21 Xpedite NXT and ‘22 EVO XF30 the new TAP draw stops work great as does the cable rod, Titan slides and TAP ti stabilizers. Hi level, well made products for the discriminating archer and bowhunter. Keep up the great work Sam!

I forgot to add in my previous post, I would really like to add an OMEN to my inventory.

I believe most manufactures test without fletchings on their 350 grain shaft as well. Theres a fairly large/fast fps loss with the fletchings air resistance.
@TapArchery Жыл бұрын
tricks of the trade! At point blank range like this you may see a 1 or 2 FPS difference without fletching but I believe the effect would be no more than that... but... if the manufacturers can gain an additional amount to use for marketing... yeah, I could see that tactic being used.

@@TapArchery my testing at home has shown 6 - 8 fps at 3 feet.

@@joshkeller84 I have never seen such a drop in my 20+ years of shooting through Chronos... may be something else at work there.

Just shot a few arrows through our Pro Chrono... 388.4 gr. FLETCHED arrow... 390 gr. BARE SHAFT .... Fletched arrow = 312 fps .... Bare Shaft = 313 fps ... 1-2 fps difference just as I predicted. This was shot from a measured 3 ft distance with my PSE Omen 70 lbs / 27" ... I'll put together a video later demonstrating.... I'm glad you brought this up because it's interesting information to put out there!

My levitate is set at 29.5 in draw, 65% let off, E2 cam, 80 lbs, shooting a 600 grain arrow at 280 fps.

incredible Kinetic energy! Why so heavy of an arrow though?!
@TapArchery Жыл бұрын
By my calculations you're coming in at about 333-335 fps IBO.
@YoureSoVane Жыл бұрын
Your math to estimate IBO is still just an estimate. Speed changes are not linear. Using your math, the same bow with a 1,200 grain arrow would only shoot 40fps, and above 1,312 grains the arrow would go backwards. Different cam options have different efficiency levels at the bottom or top of the cam, so they muddies the water was well. Technically speaking, a cam has an IBO range based on draw length, and has a sweet spot for efficiency.
@TapArchery Жыл бұрын
It's all an estimate... but.... 30 yrs of using these estimates have proven to be QUITE accurate over time and on many models of bows.
@YoureSoVane Жыл бұрын
@@TapArchery I wouldn't use it to make a specific number estimate. A range of 10fps, maybe. But some cams vary more at the low end than the high end. And then limb deflection and virtual mass come into play which makes things more complicated. At lower draw weights, the same weight difference in an arrow has a greater effect on speed. Draw length can vary the effect of weight slightly as well. Longer draw lengths (on the bows I've seen enough data on) make weight variations less severe than shorter draw lengths. Weird thing I've seen, but don't have enough data to verify, is that split limb bows are more efficient with heavier arrows than light arrows. The same speed at a lighter weight, but with a heavier arrow the split limbs shoot faster.

@@YoureSoVane agreed... but as I often say in these videos "it's around such and such IBO"
@TapArchery Жыл бұрын
also noteworthy... even when I do find that a bow appears to be under IBO... it's really not by much!! ... and I would hardly be the first shooter to point out that bow manufacturers have nearly always overstated their IBO ratings compared to what average archers see with their own eyes... and yes, many variables contribute to that.

@@TapArchery I used subtitles to watch your video, so I guess I missed that part. I do think there's something to be said about how manufacturers rate themselves. It'd be nice if we had a third party vet ratings, but I could see manufacturers cherry picking bows for testing.
