The speed difference on the heavy arrow is because that arrow has vanes and the PSE has a whisker biscuit with full bristles. The Hoyt has a hostage whisker biscuit. That’s doesn’t contact the vanes.

I tested both on my channel…I also felt like the Hoyt was a bit more dead…and it just held more steady to me. And I still love my Mach 30!

I don’t own a PSE or a Hoyt but after shooting these two bows at my shop this weekend the PSE had a much better draw cycle.

Why wouldn't you set them to the same let off?

Both bows were set to get the most speed you could potentially get out of them at those specs. Hoyt has 80 and 85% let off while PSE has 80, 85 and 90%.

Why would the higher let off give it more speed? I would think it would be opposite.

@extremeoutfitters I'm definitely no expert on this subject. Just a redneck that shoots a lot. I understand that the power curve will change differently because one has a rotating mod and o.e uses modules. But, with both shooting near peak DL, a lower let off should change the power curve and produce higher speeds. I would take imagine anything drastic. But the manufacturers have shown that they use the highest let offset for testing. And I might still he wrong, but I have witnessed it myself that a higher let off produces more speed. Thoughts?

Mach 33 wins. Easier draw cycle for essentially the same speed. Lighter bow, better grip... Hard to beat the EC2 cams..

@@TheSchmuelDefinitely. I went to my local shop 2 days ago and shot literally all the top shelf bows. I left with a RX8… I could have left with the 9 but shooting back to back I couldn’t justify spending another $600 after the huge sale on the 8. Mathews feels like a Mathew’s… PSE feels like I need to work out. That initial draw was a deal beaker for me.

@TheTacticalHouse you obviously have no idea what your talking about. The evolve cam has been one of the most popular for years and the smoothest. I left hoyt because of how horrible they were and $2,200 for a heavy carbon 😆

I did this same test at the bow shop I frequent with one of the techs at 28 inches of draw with 70 pounds and a 470 grain Arrow and the mock 33 out performed it by about 5 ft./s

It's absolutely crazy the speeds that Mach 33 has being so smooth. It's also crazy that PSE made the best bow of 2025. Who would of ever thought! Lol the paint on PSE seem to be the best out of all bows.

This is not a good comparison you need to have the same let off and draw length for both bows for it to be compared. The PSE is faster above 29 inches because the engineers optimized the cams at 29.

Pse mach all the way. I got the evolve and love it. Shot the 33 just like a smaller axel bow for what I'm doing.

The pse will have more hand shock because its lighter than the hoyt! Pse shot cycle and how steady it holds to me is way better than the hoyt

I’ve shot both and I definitely prefer the PSE draw feeling it’s definitely not a stiff as the Hoyt, And I found that both were completely dead in the hand I don’t even think A man needs to hunt with a stabilizer on this bow either of them

If a Bow Company advertises any Bow at its certain IBO speed, we should not be happy with excepting to IBO speed to be with in 10fps. Both Bows tested are great bows.

Last years hoyt cam was fantastic. I think this year was a bad move. Just use the new eccentric on your turbo version. And honestly I would not pay that price for the carbon bow. I have hunted some of the nastiest terrain out west and can assure you the aluminum bows I carried weren't that bad. But that carbon needs a damn diet. You can all the flash ya want hoyt but at the end if the day you carbon bow just sucks. I would just buy the aluminum every time. PSE kudos to you for the smooth azz cam and the light weight a carbon riser should have. I would definitely drop coin there. And I am not a fan boy. I own a bowtech and an elite. Had a mathews and sold it. Had a PSE and sold it. That cam is just fantastic. Hiyt go back tonthe other cam on the rx8. Or the AX

Not even close 😂. Mathews & Hoyt have the worse fan boys. They typically won’t even look at another bow brand but will always say this year “Mathews” is the greatest and most dead in the hand ever… lol. Personally I like em all and do lean towards Mathews and PSE but if Hoyt came out with a better bow I’d shoot it and have had several of them over the years.. but PSE barely even has 1/2 the fan base of Mathews or Hoyt

Max out the draw weight on both bows and shot them. If one max’s out at 73lbs and the other at 71lbs and the 73lbs shoots faster, it’s the faster bow. I wouldn’t put my bow to 70 if I can 73 and 5 fps faster. No one is going to set there bow to 70 if they can go to 72-73lbs so why compare them at 70? Max them out and shoot them again. Quit BS us

You set them the same for an apples to apples comparison. Plus, speed ratings are done at 70 pounds. You can add twists to the cables to get either one up in poundage.
