I've been mostly carnivore for about a year, have just begun to incorporate PSMF. Been dealing with autoimmune issues, but feeling so much better now! Thank you for sharing!!

Very interesting. My grandfather was born in the 1800s. He practiced fasting. If he has any illness at all he fasted. He was a Christian and said if was Gods opportunity to heal him. He lived to 96 and died after preaching a sermon in about 5 seconds of a massive heart rupture. What a way to go. I use fasting for spiritual reasons only. Yet I feel better after about 36 hours of fasting. PSMF is great though. I would rather eat for sure. I love my meat.

Wonderful perspective. Great witnessing of someone who used fasting.

I did a 21 day fast. However I didn’t mean me for spiritual reasons and I wanted to get rid of a lot of addictions and that included sugar addiction. After my 21 day fast I felt bring you better focus on the longer the pan on sugar and or processed foods I feel like I have more control over my body and I don’t let my mind control me anymore

Agree, I’ve done fasts for health, then the weight came back in a few days, I practice IF, only use splash of cream in coffee once a day, incorporated PSMF, I’m able to see the difference, Thank You Cheers from Pennsylvania 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Learning, and trying to figure out time/what to eat on PSMF days AND non PSMF days. I am used to OMAD, so it’s a bit of a change for me. My struggle is getting the protein in without adding too much fat. I too, have realized that my body is much better off with little to no dairy. I basically allow cream or half and half in my coffee… not much else aside from some occasional feta on my salad. Thanks for great info ☺️

I was on a regular high fat ketogenic diet and hit a stall. I tried to incorporate PSMF but it was hard for me. It was hard for me to eat all that protein with no fat or carbs and I started craving carbs again. So what I did was a compromise: eliminate cheese and cream but keep fatty pieces of meat. Then my cheat days I incorporated the fatty sauces like hollandaise. I was able to break the stall. Plus I varied my eating windows during days of higher protein consumption so I could break down the protein and started doing resistance training (not very heavy to reduce injuries) on those days

Super interesting. I have constantly struggled with weight regain (and binging) after coming off my fasts. I've felt so defeated. In my first week of PSMF and I feel so in control of my eating (because I'm full from the protein).

@@DrKarlGoldkamp-KetoNaturopath that sounds great. I will watch every one. What about 'What we eat on a keto day?' People love to see how others eat. I guess, though, as carnivores, you eat the same, plus mayo like you said in one of your videos!

Great presentation. Thank you. I have done a lot of fasts and never lost weight. Now I know why. What about autophagy fasting for periodic maintanance and rejuvenation?

As I covered towards the end of the video fasting for immune support is important and valid. Ideally, track you GKI and learn how to stay under 1.

Been keto for 3yrs also on maintenance for 2 of the 3yrs. And still always hungry. I always thought to raise my fat but then my body fat percentage also went up i would fast to get it down then have to deal with binging couse of cours i was starving. Viscous cycle. Till a learned about protein fasting Never hungry anymore and fat% drop in 1 week. Finally i see the light at the end of the tunnel. So my maintenance will be high protein moderate fat very very low carb. And 2 days a week protein sparing. Thanks sooo much.

I also fell for the fat trap in de keto/carnivore diet... the more fat you eat the better, I gained weight didn't felt good but according to the experts it was the best way to loose weight or the most healthy way for your hormones and thyroid etc...and if you didn't loose weight than the healing was not complete (first you heal and then the weight would come off) and if you still would not loose you are fasting or do OMAD and if that didn't work it was your fault as they didn't believe you followed the program correctly and cheated. The trend in carnivore (and keto) is low protein high fat. So I'm at the very beginning of the journey and I'm excited and curious how it will work out. Thank you for all the time and effort in explaining.

Has anyone taken glucose and ketone measurements during a PSMF?

In avoiding dairy, do you also avoid butter?
@DrKarlGoldkamp-KetoNaturopath3 жыл бұрын
Yes. We make exceptions periodically ... as you'll see in my wife's recipes.
@nataliajimenez1870 Жыл бұрын
A lot of people that avoid dairy can generally do clarified butter (ghee) because it removes the milk proteins which are inflammatory for some people and it's easy to add it to your coffee or tea

On a PSMF day, female ideal weight is 158. How many grams of protein should the goal be?

If your not breaking down muscle for gluconeogenesis then I take it as the protein you’re eating is being used for gluconeogenesis based on your bodies glucose needs? If that the case, would you need to increase protein beyond the 1g/lean body weight to make up for the protein that’s being used for glucose? What do you suggest for macros on non psmf days?
@DrKarlGoldkamp-KetoNaturopath3 жыл бұрын
The basic premise is that PSMF keeps your muscle Protein Synthesis positive for as long as possible, and if adding weight training that will further tilt the MPS to positive even more. Muscle is always turning over, like bone. The 1 gram/pound of ideal body weight is fine, you can go higher but there is really not much gain to be seen, or in essence what you are asking no reduction in loss, or any additional benefit. So no, no need to go higher.
