It would be socially acceptable to be a "prick" to someone that claims to have supernatural abilities that they claim can assist in solving crimes (read as making money). At any rate, that's part of the reason I made this comment. Randi exposes their lack of alleged power in the most polite and professional way imaginable. If they can not prove it with hands-on controlled experimentation, why should we be polite in calling out their deception?

She's really smart but Randi is smarter. She though because the weapon was most likely be the killing weapon that he wouldn't have used a real murder weapon to trip her up. But Randi didn't do that. James Randi don't debunk anyone... They debunk themselves. James Randi just puts things out there and says here prove to me you are what you say you are. Psychics are right 75% of the time.. Real study shows that they're only right 33.4% of the time.. Most people who guess are right about 37.2%. lol!!! So through study Psychics are worst at predictions than most normal people. Now why is a normal person better at guessing than a Psychic? Because they're not full of shit and trying to put something over on someone.

It's sort of true. James "The Amazing" Randi can do all the same bullshit any "psychic" does, and he usually does it much better! He's a stage magician, who used to do shows way back. Since all psychics are bullshitters and charlatans, Randi can do all that too, and he puts on a better show. So he is the best psychic. He's also an honest one. Perhaps that disqualifies him. Do you need to talk a load of lying old shit to count as psychic? They all do. I suppose it's like if Magneto owned a scrap yard. He moves chunks of metal about using magnetism, when he's driving his crane. It has an electromagnet on the end as they often do.

Tarot readers do the same thing "The knight of wands....is there a man close to you who you feel is running roughshod over your desires? It's coupled with the wheel, do you find this situation has been going on for a while?" It's like asking if someone's ever chewed gum before.

@@exquisitecorpse4917 Exactly. I made the same point to someone that believed psychic readers were real because she totally went to see one and they were "right" 100% of the time. I told her that they just make general, sweeping questions that fit 80-90% of humanity and let you fill in the blanks yourself, but she didn't believe me. So instead, I just decided to do exactly what the so-called psychics do and instead of walking away understanding she was lied to, she now thinks I'm psychic too. Some people just really want to believe things are beyond their control.

@alikhalid349
@alikhalid349 6 жыл бұрын
Daytona Says What?! No that is not what it means. In fact, what you mean by "metaphysical" is not why it would be written off in that way, albeit it may be that you have encountered religious people who are not necessarily knowledgeable about what they mean. Science is logical and measurable, in that, it uses a particular method (the scientific method) in order to investigate the natural world around us. It is, however, not the right "tool" for investigating that which is beyond the natural world, or rather, that which is not measurable in the same way. Science does not give us the answer of everything, nor does religion (depending on your religion), they are two separate things for two different purposes.

Not a case about psychics, but there was a case of murder in the UK once where a psychologist “helped” the police by making up claims of “what the murderer must’ve looked like” and that he “must’ve been a loner who looks at a lot of pornography”, all 100% ungrounded assumptions that led to the police chasing phantoms, ending in ruining the wrong suspect’s life. @Amilah 'A lot of people' doesnt define the majority of people. Plenty of artists get payed their worth. If most of them didnt then we wouldnt have entertainment industries built around art and we wouldnt have rich people paying artists millions for paint on canvases. Its not just 'Artists' that have people haggling them. Its literally every profession that ever existed. Of course you are going to get people trying to buy your product for cheaper. There will always be people like that out there. Its been like that ever since the concept of trading was invented. The issue here is people being dishonest with their work. If people think the value of their work is lower then fucking go find another buyer. There are millions of buyers out there willing to pay for art worth their value.

@@ao4-stzf "Mother's Maiden Name" meaning there mother's original family name. And because that (in most english colonized nations) the wife takes the husbands last name in Marriage and given the time period had a higher emphasis on marriage, it's reasonable to assume the mother got her maiden name from her father. This would mean the person saying their mother's maiden name was Taylor would probably have a grandfather named Mr Taylor. This isn't 100% but otherwise a very well done playing of the percentages. The percentages for this read will be dropping over time though due to marriage being less important, single parents, less of a cultural force for the wife to take the husband's name, gay marriage, etc.

No she doesn't. I draw myself and people often overestimate how hard it is to reproduce a picture like that. She just memorized how to paint (/copy) all the parts from one perspective. But everything is misplaced and a bit off. And look at the nose. The right nostril is completely fucked up. She did the left ok (it's too long) because it's from a perspective she practiced but she has no idea how the right one should look and puts it there like heavily warped. Also the eyes are drawn directly from the front while the head is tilted sideways. To avoid this you need to know a head in 3d and that is rather basic. So what i mean is she doesn't draw in 3d, she just memorized the pieces and put them together. All in all she isn't very good. You can learn that in an afternoon. Just copy an eye (it's like one line here, one there + a bit of shadow for ppl who think art equals magic), copy a mouth, etc. then put it all together in a collage. Do this 10 times and suddenly you are an artist and can produce a portrait out of your mind.

And how much will a random drawing sell for? Even if you sell it for cheap, will you, an average person, buy a painting for $20? Not everyone will *want* to buy a painting, not only that, not everyone HAS room for a painting by a random woman. In contrast, people will pay thousands for an "experience" with the dead. Minimal effort needed especially when compared to painting. That's why you see a lot of these jokers do these things for a living.

@Panama Jack Let's just say the human brain is a filter not a powerful tool and so receives 1% of reality wich he thinks is all as he should, nobody asks you to know everything because you can't, people function with their own beleives and knowledge level not because it is necessarily true but because it makes them happy and that is the goal of a life, thats why many will treat the invisible as being pop culture and mixing all kinds of stuff. and they're right the brain is not meant to go further than that, but if you are happier with more know this: with that said nobody can deny that 99% of reality is completely inaccessible to us, that % contains entire univers, worlds, matters, colours,dimensions, things you couldn't even describe or imagine and of course beings as well, the very fabric of everything is contained within that %, i like to think that the human brain is programmed for tier 1 reality for a very specific reason. anyway, what James Randi did in his life was right, these people are not what they claim to be, however humans still have some power they can control.

As Aspiring Artists, We Tend To Attach a Supernatural interference/Force To Our Own Creations and/Or Ideas with An Optimistic suggestion of It Being A Part Of Our “psychic” Abilities. The Mind Can Do Wondrous And Beautiful Things When Put To The Test. This Was Just Am Exhibition Of Insecurities. Poor Lady Hardly Understood Her Talents, And Then Some jack Ass Tells Her She’s Drawing Actual People. When You Try Hard And Someone acknowledges You For More Than You Found Yourself To Be Worth, Then, As A Specie Of Emotional and social sensitivity, You’ll Build Off Of That Concept.
