So many things to unlock again. Maddison, and Bentancur looked a lot better than previous games. Romero’s commitment is unmatched. Son was creating a lot from the left two games in a row. VDV was running so fast after his goal so no one even attempted to run with him to celebrate.
@mickbanner4 ай бұрын
The Burnley game was such a relief. A far cry from a triumph...but confirmation that Son is better on the left, Skipp might not be the answer as LB, Bentancur is the most positive DM we have, we need a right winger that will have Kulu/Brennan fighting for the one free spot, VDV is the boss!

We love it, Ali. I think it's your very down to earth nature, and being the guy it feels we could run into in person and just have a pint with that is very refreshing. Sorry about the very busy schedule upcoming, and hopefully, you get some time after to spend with the family. I'm personally very much looking forward to the insights you receive about Lucas Bergvall. Take care!

I understand the son comments. I am finding son and maddisons body language incredibly frustrating. Heads down, arms flapping like penguins. These are our Captains... lead by example. I didn't think Son was good yesterday until he went on the left wing. Then he looked like the old son. Just my opinion
@jordaneubank4 ай бұрын
Son has no hold up play, whatsoever. Besides his finishing, he has no business being a #9. He is best on the left. There is a reason why things looked better once he was on the left.

Hey Alasdair, The second year is where you’ll see the Tottenham Ange is creating. He always said 3-4 transfer windows to mould his squad will be needed. Strap in Spurs fans, the hunt for trophies is imminent!
@marcolearmont98804 ай бұрын
He'll need more than new players and the one tactic he deploys week in, week out. There's no plan B or C, just the high line. Everyone's worked him out and unless he changes his stubborn one-tactic wonder, he's finished. It may have worked in the Scottish league but it won't wash in Premier League. I hope I'm wrong but I give him until Christmas and he'll be Levy fodder!
@GavinPasco4 ай бұрын
@@marcolearmont9880 Yeah,fair call. I just think he’ll bring in players that can work and be successful in his system. Ange is no mug, I’m sure he’ll make adjustments but all within the framework of his game plan. As a neutral fan ,it’s been an interesting watch on how fans waver from one week to the next. This forum definitely provides the most balanced views I think. I guess in 12 months tie we’ll be much the wiser.
@marcolearmont98804 ай бұрын
@@GavinPasco yeah I hope you’re right. And after yesterdays game, I was impressed for most part how we disrupted City’s usual fluidity. Hopefully we shop well and Ange works on some new tactics. The building blocks are there.

What I will say is regarding Van de Ven. What a player at his age and his first season in an elite devision. I am sure there will be some elite managers... cough cough asking a lot of questions in house as to how they missed this player. I know the ones and everytime I see Van de Ven play. It puts a MASSIVE SMILE on my face thinking... Suckers, he is ours.

Another great video from Mr Gold. So cool that i was watching your videos from the start. One of the first to sub. Always the most down to earth and reliabl Journalist for Spurs. For me this season as been one of Spurs best for a long time. To finish 5th or maybe eveb 4th after most people said Spurs would struggle to finish 8th. No Harry Kane. Brand new manger new players. The crazy month of playing LB and RB as defender's missing most of the midfield. Ange has his system and next season with additions Spurs will be even stronger. The wonder will be what if Spurs had beaten Chelsea and the players that got injured has stayed fit. Think Spurs would have been finishing 3rd right now.

I think GLC has been wasted by Ange. His posture may have been coloured by the player's track record at the club, but GLC has shown enthusiasm and professionalism under Ange and didn't deserve to be so neglected. What is more, i think he and Hojbjerg have the right mentality that Ange is looking for. And as you say, we are going to need a bigger squad for next season, as this group has been looking gassed with the bare minimum fixture list (although appallingly scheduled by the EPL, with big gaps followed by a crush of matches - that goes for the women's schedule too) and we will not only have European football next season but hopefully also some extended cup runs.

Ali, Ange ball is fantastic to watch and can be devastating but I csn only recall 2 games where we have played it for 90 mins consistently, Newcastle at home and Villa away. What's your opinion on it being playable for a whole season? I think Ange has to tweak his tactics in order to be successfull in the prem, and we need 5 or 6 new players that are able to play it consistently.

Croatia is amazing. In fact I'm considering returning and spending some more time there it just has a perfect balance of Sun, Sea and Sight Seeing. As for the season. For me you missed the standout performance of the day in terms of stamina. Pierre-Emile Højbjerg's toddler (looked to me to be about 4 or 5), as the team came back on the pitch, ran towards the South Stand and received a cheer, he then proceeded to run all over the pitch North, South, East, West I swear he covered every blade of grass and effectively lapped the pitch several times. We should sign him now, with the engine he has and just a bit of his dad's skill he could be starring for us in 15 years time.

We looked more fluid with Son on the left, Johnson on the right and Scarlett down the centre. Kulu kept cutting back , often losing the ball and breaking the fluidity ( in my opinion) Midfield played better despite opposition. MvdVen , Porro and Romero were excellent. . Living in West Cornwall I see a lot of Plymouth Argyle. So, a big shout out to Ashley Philips who won Argyle Young Player of the Year Award. Ashley is an excellent defender, needs to be a bit more confident bringing the ball out of defence but mostly a wonderful prospect for Spurs. Alfie Devine has also done well but though picked by the ill fated Ian Foster (who lasted 3 months as Manager), he wasn't truly able to shine. Alfie did show promise though especially in the Run In and he helped keep the Pilgrims in the Championship.

Good to have you back…..I believe we have finally had the Harry Kane absence catch up with us. Teams are just letting us have the ball because Sonny down the middle is not as dangerous. I hear what your saying, but from day one I've always thought Deki is played out of position. He has skill but he lacks speed. He's played in a number 10 position for us and for previous teams and I think he's more suited there. I'd have liked to see him rotate with Madders this season but feel it's too late for him now. I’m one of those Al that say Romero holds onto the ball too long. Knowing when to use that tactic and when not is the key. Many times there have movement up front and momentum is lost. I hate it Al with a passion. Our first goal conceded against Arsenal, was a diagonal back pass instead of lobbing it forward. It ended up being a corner for EPH own goal. Also the odd hospital pass given with that tactic.

We know the result now and it's now time to to think whether we want to win on Tuesday against ManC in the hope that we can get CL or if it won't be enough.
