Crazy coincidence: I more believed her than not due to the Montel Williams show. I went to one of her conferences in the Midwest. At the time I worked in healthcare. This elderly, chic lady asked SB about the cause of her husband's death. Silvia said the MDs were wrong and he died of such and such. It seemed rather familiar to me.... Lo and behold, the lady and her daughter were standing inline behind me while complaining about SB's response. For the ONLY TIME IN MY LIFE, I asked was your husband at XYZ hospital? Yep. I put together that I had legitimately read her husband's chart for my job. His death was an unique situation therefore, it stuck out. I explained to this lady what I did so she would know that what I said was true. She was so grateful to me and thanked me so much. It was then that I realized what a fraud SB was!! SB told the woman to dig up her husband's grave, get another MD's opinion, blah, blah. Can you imagine?? Yet it is Amanda Berry's mother that still haunts me.

I grew up in Campbell, CA where Sylvia lived. For a short time a few years before she founded her church she ran a prayer and metaphysics group out of an office building in town. My infant son had been hospitalized with an undiagnosed illness and in my helplessness and desperation I found myself there one night, sobbing to a woman behind the counter and filing out a prayer request form. Sylvia had been sitting at a desk in the background and when she heard me crying she came up to me and took my hands in hers. She actually promised me that my son would be fine, which gave me immense comfort and turned out to be true. I have to give her props for her compassion that night, even though I became a skeptic of her psychic abilities soon after and grew to hate her for the anguish she caused so many tortured parents. She died in disgrace at a local hospital and is buried near my husband’s family members. I sometimes wonder how she’s doing in the afterlife.

This is going to sound incredible and that's because it is. I know people that literally think I am a psychic. I was raised to be incredibly observant of people and also to anticipate people's needs. So when I go ahead and help people or understand what they're trying to talk about, bystanders literally think I'm a psychic. I tell them I'm not I just really pay attention and 9 times out of 10 you can tell what somebody is going to want. It has made me a very good nurse with patients with dementia because I'm able to figure out what they're trying to say or what need they're trying to have met. There are people that would rather believe that I have a psychic ability than the fact that I just really pay attention to people. People all weird!

Thank you about your story on Sylvia Brown, I’ve never heard of her. I’m British, but that gives people the wrong idea of Spiritual Mediums. We all havre this gift to a degree , I wanted to work with mine from being a child , but didn’t know anything about it then. I new I was different that’s all. But over many years I’ve come to the understanding I’m feel honoured to say I’m a helper for spirit friends. My work is precious too me. Messages I receive are from the highest of love. My friends and I work on that premiss to give our messages with love., neither are our intentions to hurt anyone. Listening to Sylvia Brown on one show, blatantly telling someone how they died , for me is cruel, we have to be responsible for what comes out of out mouth. I found her unfeeling. That’s not spiritual at all. We work with guides whom protect that spirit and protect us. All with love. We are not allowed nor would I want it even if I new tell a person in front of others about a loved one. For me that’s a one to one reading. Private. Spirit friends work with me in love not hate or vengeance . She must have given loved ones here nightmares. This too me is disgusting, and a gift if she had one was used fraudulent . How Sylvia was allowed to get away with this , well I’m astounded. For the true Mediums out there I wish you love and harmony and keep working for the highest and the best. In Christs name which is LOVE.🙏🙏🇬🇧❤️

@@solannyandrea378 Sorry, I don't HATE ANYONE- but I DO STRONGLY DISLIKE when people like her take advantage of people in their most vulnerable and tragic times in their life, when they are hurting, GRIEVING, Heartbroken, and DESPERATE for ANY kind of answers or comfort- and they lie- and do it ALL for MONEY, or sometimes Fame AND money. I find that sickening, and I've seen it happen to people I love. After my Dad died WAY too young from colon cancer, my Brother got obsessed with knowing if he still existed on the other side (I personally believe he does and I hope sometimes he is around me and his Grandchildren, and that he is so Happy is surrounded by Love and Free of all pain!) But my brother started spending CRAZY AMOUNTS of money on a "Psychic" who told him she was getting "messages" straight my Father apparently. It ruined his marriage eventually and left his 4 children in a horrible situation bc he spend THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS on this, and they didn't have much to begin with. And it was all bunk. That's also on him for bad decision making, but he was grieving and he has some extreme learning disabilities and mental struggles, so it's much harder for him to understand logically. So I guess I would say I don't DESPISE people like this, but I CERTAINLY despise what they do, how they prey on and profit off people's pain and lie and rob people blind. It is especially disturbing when it involves someone who has lost a child, so broken, and looking for ANYTHING to help. In that situation, I might try ANYTHING too! So YES I said Amen to this comment, and Amen CAN just mean you agree with someone- also I am never unkind to ANYONE, and I'm always very quick to apologize if I ever do wrong- and we all do, or especially if I offend someone- but I won't apologize for this or how I feel about it, and I'm sure God would frown on it heavily also BTW (the lying and taking advantage and exploiting people's loss and grief I mean)- if you are taking the "Amen" in that sense, though I was just meaning it as "I agree". It's not an ok thing to do, and you judging me for feeling that way about people who lie and deceive and exploit pain and Death and Loss and tragedy and heartbreak and vulnerability for money seems short sided and unkind, but you're welcome to your feelings and opinions just like I'm welcome to mine. I’ve never been a big believer in psychics and still find myself questioning what happened to my cousin, Di, several years ago. My cousin’s only child was brutally murdered at 18, and she struggled terribly over his death for years. A friend of hers signed her up see Suzane Northrop, a psychic medium who was doing a reading on our area, hoping this might give Di some peace. Di was one of 200 people at the reading, and at no time was her name or any personal information given to the psychic (her friend bought the ticket in her own name). Apparently this gal roamed all over the room, supposedly connecting with the dead relatives & friends of people in the audience. All of a sudden, this gal makes a b-line directly to my cousin, stands in front of her and tells her that a young man with a name beginning with an M had been bugging her since she started the session. She asked Di if she had a son who died, and Di nodded. Then she asked if her son’s name was Matt. Di nodded. Then she asked if his death was a murder…specifically involving his heart, and Di nodded. Then she said, Matt says he loves the little memorial you set up for him in the living room, and he wants you to know you were the best mom, and that he’s very happy. The gal pauses and says, wait a minutes…there’s a very large man with him. It looks like he’s wearing a uniform…maybe a policeman or fire fighter? Di’s dad had died 6 months before Matt-he was a firefighter, and he & Matt were inseparable. She also told Di that this big man is holding a tiny dog…maybe a pug? At this point Di & her husband are in shock, because my aunt & uncle had a pug who also died around the same time. Then this gal said something that blew my mind. She said there was another male coming through who was very gregarious. She told Di that he is with your dad and son, and his name begins with a J. Di drew a blank. The gal said he’s balding, well dressed, very funny and is making everyone laugh. Di still draws a blank. Then she said, he is showing me little trains…like the kind under a Christmas tree but he’s also showing me real trains, and Di realizes it’s her Uncle John-MY dad! My sweet, kind, smart, honorable dad had died that year after a brutally short battle with colon cancer at 65. He had worked for the Wabash and then the N&WRR and had been a model railroader for 30 years, collecting engines and railcars for his ultimate layout. He had been retired for 3 years and been in the throes of finishing a massive train layout when he was diagnosed and, tragically, he’s never had a chance to run a train on the tracks he had worked so hard on! I cried like baby & Di cried with me. My husband is a scientist who thinks psychics are charlatans, but when I shared all this with him, even he was dumbfounded. Actually, our whole family of skeptics are still dumbfounded. We couldn’t ignore the fact that there was no way Northrop knew my cousin’s name, so she couldn’t have researched her background. Second, even if she did, how would she know about my dad? Her mom & my mom are sisters, so we don’t have the same last name. And how would she know about his hobby? Short of having a team of people who surreptitiously follow all ticket buyers to determine who is coming to readings, there is no way Northrop could have known all this detailed information. No matter how much we tried to debunk Northrop we just couldn’t. So, Sylvia was a obviously complete sham, but is that true of all psychics? Ten years ago I would have thought so, but not anymore. But as much as Northrop seemed to be the real deal, I haven’t been inclined to see a psychic myself. I guess I’m on the fence!

I remember her saying a guy died in water when he died as a firefighter in the WTC on 9/11. They actually tried to justify that by saying, "Well, you know, the water... firefighters use water, or the river..." It was disgusting.

Hah! Not even Satan would deal with her bullshit! He and God would send her to fucking Purgatory as they both heartily laugh while clinking beers and sitting at the beach watching the sunset across the serene ocean.

I remember her all over daytime tv when I was a kid. Even then i knew she was full of it, but I couldn't figure out how she got away with it. I figured if all those adults are going along with it, I must be the one who is wrong. I was a teenager before i decided i could trust my judgement and she was a charlatan

This is so sad that she hurt so many people but was allowed to get away with this. I had a sister-in-law who believed everything she said!

I saw one clip where she was talking to a lady who’s fiancé died and the lady said “they never found his body” Sylvia responds almost immediately saying “it’s because he’s in water “ and the lady seems taken aback by this and tells Sylvia “he died in 9/11” 🤦🏼♀️ I’m a former witch(born again Christian now) and even when I was in the occult, I couldn’t stand this stuff. Or the people pretending to channel dead celebs”

Thanks for recognizing she’s the greatest con artist in the highly competitive field of psychic scammers. She profited from people’s miseries, and offered incorrect information in return.

Sylvia said a woman's missing husband drowned... however the woman said he died during 9/11 as a fire fighter and they never found his body. moment of silence for those poor souls who drowned in the world trade center 😑

I remember the Shawn Hornbeck case very well, as he disappeared in a town not far from where I grew up. I remember being appalled that she told his parents that he was dead, but I didn’t know how often she did that to these vulnerable families. Disgusting
