Watching your reaction, I kept going “You have no idea how far this rabbit hole goes!” NF’s catalog is a journey, this song is the very beginning. He treats his music as therapy, through out his records you will find several stages of grief. It is truly a powerful thing as he takes us along to witness as he works through his trauma and finds healing. His growth is so evident with every album. They are Mansion, Therapy Session, Perception, The Search, Clouds, and finally his latest album released this year is Hope, where he is basically taking the reigns and finding closure to each of the traumas he shared on previous albums. It is a long journey, but almost magical to witness. Based on your reaction on this song, I think it would be right up your alley!!!

Understood, just want the nf community grow, im really saying that his struggles now and accomplishments later has been a huge reason to be ok with being vulnerable, I bet if u seen that it would be easier to approach ur patients so with "no disrespect" this is y sympathy and empathy is easier found throughout other people than a Dr. , outcast will gladly give out their life stories or trials and tribulations in life while ur own patients most likely are beyond hesitant in speaking about it, look, u can accept that outcast want to help u out or continue with ur journey taking shortcuts through it but don't be mad cuz ur confused at the so called "end". So "with no disrespect" ur deflection to care to know him shows a strong lack of caring to really want to understand ur patients

Yo lezo I understand why I'm sounding confusing so no issue there... I apologize for this just wanted a psychologist to take the full journey and I bet would understand people 150% more combined with his degree he would probably be the best out there, he would have the ability to see life through another person's lense, thats only point im trying to get across, I don't dislike or hate him, but taking shortcuts leaves you at a dead end, just think of every other reactor that did that, they just ended up lost hoping for nf fans to pull them the hole they chose to go down... every fan has always had to explain over and over. We all started from da beginning but we understood instantly his new album.

I'm glad you took a look at this one, Nic. I'm relatively new to NF myself. I'm sure many of his fans will come with suggestions of tracks to check out. The "NF Journey" is a list of songs chronicling his "search for hope". I will say before those people arrive with suggestions: If you want to find out more about the situation with his mom "How could you leave us" is a good place to start. Personally I started my introduction to NF in reverse with the song "Hope" and I actually kinda recommend that. You miss a lot of references in his official video, but those all fill in as you go. I think my favourite thing about your videos is that it feels like a dialog. I find myself wanting to respond as if it's a conversation once you've stopped to discuss something. I sincerely hope that as you grow to understand and craft videos you don't lose that. It's special amongst these channels.

One day a professor will use NF to create a whole class and it could be in Psychology, or the Arts or even Philosophy. Perhaps not a whole class but this could be some great supplemental material. And NF has a lot of songs that all real. NF personifies his emotions. In this song we met Fear and learned he sleeps with Regret. These two will be back in future songs. Even a good parent unit, can cause a lot of pain thru divorce for example. I know all of my relationships and self worth were really impacted when my Mom left my Dad.

@@nichooper7 Thank you Doctor. The NF Journey is very long, it is about 60 songs but it ties together a story from album to album of NF's life. Everything he says is real and it is about his struggle from Mansion to Hope which is still in progress. Someone will drop the full NF Journey list so either just take your time and do them in order, or listen to a few songs but make sure you listen to each album off line to get the gest of the story if you don't want to do a reaction to that many songs. If you do, we will be along for the ride because it is an epic story with real climaxes and crashes. Also, make sure if a song has a official video (not fan made) to watch them because NF plants easter eggs in the videos, bars, and storyline. You will be amazed. One song that is late in the journey but is really about his early life is called Nate. It is a good song to listen to early because it is about NF talking to his younger self. It teaches you more about his early life and so I think it is a good first song. But, after that song keep them in order if you want to catch the storyline.

funny you say that.. i'm a therapist with a specialty in complex mental disorders. i teach DBT so mostly those wonderful minds first struggling with BPD, C-PTSD, OCPD (something as a major Nate supporter believes he has over just OCD b/c of his other little things like depression, some mania in his more hyped songs like Grindin' or Real (bc if you think about it.. those were very early in his career and he makes some very grandiose boasts in those tracks that could be partially due to manic thinking, despite being great to us Outcasts). To get to my point.. I use a number of his songs for my clients to help better understand some Psych terminology that could be harder to grasp for just diagnosed patients.. "Splitting" is a very delicate form of practice where you teach people how to personify their diff emotions in order to be able to envision any form of chaos by taking a pause, step back, and just look at whats happening in your mind space. to look at your different emotions and be able to rationalise whether they're real or a flare up of a symptom you might have. It helps people with Phobias or Panic Attacks a lot (General Anxiety Disorder). I use his music very personally client to client b/c I literally know Nate's entire catalogue at this point.. so depending on where a client may be on their own journey, i will sometimes ask them to listen to a track of Nates where he was in the same place or even when he's passed it and raps about accepting it. "Let Me Go" is a wonderful track i use to help people who might need a little more push in self awareness. Intro III i'm a bit hesitant with bc of the end where he basically admits to going back into the cycle of how he deals with Fear.. but the dialogue before the last lines are a beautiful representation of self critique in a way that's not self victimizing yourself. Intro II is both a personal favourite track of his, but also one i often recommend to clients who I can see are about to hit the floor from a high point. When people usually do a drop off, they can cycle back into many bad habits and i think it's a powerful track to help clients to learn that their battle is within themselves.. "the only person i judge is one in the mirror, and lately, he aint doing well, i don't need ya'll in my ear"... its just such an undervalued song, imo, even better than Intro III, bc it's Nate's warning shots to Fear.. "Take out a picture of us and I stare at it Who am I kidding? You probably ain't hearing this Show me an artist you want to compare me with You put us both on a track, Imma bury them" I feel it goes over many peoples heads that the entire track he's only addressing Fear, despite how often he's literally saying it metaphorically whilst looking in so many mirrors (watch the video again with that in mind.. it suddenly becomes like a whole new track aimed directly at Fear, it's peak talent) with all that said. I'd be a great supporter of a NF course to take for Psychology students as some form of alternative therapy analysis class based off Nate as a case study. Heck, I'd love to even teach it. lol #NFRealMusic 🗝 🤍

@HaraQuinn 11 ай бұрын
@@nichooper7 his music is a wealth of self realised knowledge of child hood related trauma and its affects even so many years later that it's hard to believe he never had any training in psychology. His vulnerability is his power. You can hear his anger/fear/regrets in his voice, despite being written tracks b/c he's literally experiencing whatever he's addressing at the time of the tracks release. Think of it as his Diary or Notepad (Notepad being a beautiful track i hope is on your list). I believe that's what makes his support base so heavily family related the #NFFamily . He has such an incredible sense of self awareness whilst also confused at what's happening. He'll sometimes be experiencing and describing something he's going through, but lacking the actual vocabulary for it (Paralyzed is a beautiful example of this where his descriptions are so on par with how a real client would describe X (i don't want to spoil)). Mansion, ironically enough, is literally the blueprint to his entire discography. It is a very heavy song.. so heavy that he manages to express every intricacy detailed in Mansion through 3 packed albums.. Mansion, Therapy Session, Perception.. The last two (minus the Clouds Mixtape) The Search, and now Hope become his more helpful therapeutic albums for him due to a situation you'll come to understand when you get to the end of Perception. He ends up taking a longer break (for him) before The Search, and explains exactly what happened and where he had gone. There's absolutely enough material in his 5 Albums to make some sort of Case Study course in the power of Alternative Therapy for sure. 100%.

Appreciate your take on NF. Coming at it fresh. I like your approach. I feel that more we try and bury negatives the bigger they grow, not to say, let them consume you. But push through it if you can. In flashbacks, dreams , just out of the blue things come back to me and I try to see it as a natural and necessary. Finding a safe place , some therapeutic expression , processing it, finding a pathway out and sharing with other humans , who have common experiences is a great thing. I find , like you said. The lines between your mind and whats out there, blurs and can be so overwhelming, I agree that people should talk out things more.

NF has OCD you will learn this later in he talks about it. I don’t know how familiar you are with rap but lots of metaphors are used in rap and lots of bars will have double and triple meanings. Rap is poetry and NF does it well but just as his brand says he’s rapping about REAL THINGS he personally struggles with. You'll see that of my videos my NF ones get the fewest views but he is the artist I am most interested in and so I'd like to do the journey properly.

Ok so I’m reading the comment on what songs you should do and I’m wondering if these people have listened to all his albums in their entirety because EVERY SONG will have a snippet of something that explains his mental and spiritual journey. I also read a comment that was talking about outcasts and although I understood the comment I can understand why it was confusing. We the fans of NF are called OUTCASTS. It isn’t something negative for us because it stands for being different in a good way. NF is a clean artist who doesn’t rap abt the normal rap topics he opens up his soul and his music helps many through tough times. Now back to what songs to do if you are gonna do the journey. Do ALL I HAVE, then off the mansions album you just did the 1st very important song, then do NOTEPAD, WAIT, and Paralyzed the rest on the album are kinda hype songs so move on after those songs if you want they r still good but u can move on to the rest of the albums. From here I wouldn’t skip ANY SONGS do THERAPY SESSIONS album, PERCEPTION album, THE SEARCH album, CLOUDS THE MIX TAPE, then finally HOPE. It’s called the NF JOURNEY for a reason. It’s brilliant and skipping around is literally like watching a 6 movie series and deciding you are gonna fast forward through parts of each movie. Those that say to skip are not listening hard enough. This is a mental and spiritual journey. An EXPERIENCE FOR SURE! I hope you take my words to heart I’m not steering you wrong. Also just sayin if you do this journey the fans will watch! I’m subbing right now in hopes you do it! ❤

Am i the only one that sees the irony of choosing this song to review and having it talk about a messy mansion with writing everywhere. While the doc sits in an all white room where everything appears neat and ordered?.. not the most eloquent writing there, but you get the idea

Thanks for the comment! I think that a lot of people have minds that looks like the Mansion, but on the outside they look perfectly fine. This goes for me. Nic
