I love the principal because you can interpret the refrain at the end of the chorus as "where's the principal" as in where is the leader figure when you need one, but it can also be understood as "where's the principle" as in where are your morals, it's brilliant
@Killua-ni5zq

Right!! I love that. Same thing with Drama Club. You can interpret it as drama going on in highschool, your life, etc. And like a whole group of people gossiping or you can interpret it as acually being in a play and having set roles they expect you to play. ( like man going out to work while women stay home to cook for him)

I just noticed that in "Show and Tell" when the doll is thrown, and her guts are showing, that is showing how whenever she is exposed, or vulnerable in a way, everyone that once liked her, left and said "Gross." Which shows how you can't show a weakness or vulnerability in a popularity position
@Lil-Boba
@Lil-Boba 2 ай бұрын
I think of it as like when she opens up and tells ppl what she did wrong or what they did that they feel bad about or just confess stuff or etc and they’re like “Ew! Gross!” Which is why she says she doesn’t wanna be thrown away like a banana peel because when celebrities or famous people tell people they’re also human their fans dont wanna be fans anymore, because some fans are like: “OH SHE CANT DO ANY WRONG” and stuff like that so when she opens up abt it they dont like her anymore.

Im surprised you didn't catch the end of "Show And Tell'. They finally see the inside and don't want her anymore as in she opens up and speaks about how she feels and the people are like "ew gross" and ignore her. that's why she says "Im scared that i'll get thrown away like a banana peel."
@Elli.faith_045

It also shows another meaning. Show and Tell tells us that she doesn't want to be on display all the time but if she doesn't, she thinks she will get thrown away and forgotten about. So when she is thrown and sees her insides they get grossed out and bored in a way, they aren't entertained anymore

Thats exactly how it is. She realises they wont listen to her and nothing will change after she makes her case. the problem is THE SYSTEM that shes trying to plead to so she destroys it. In the dramaclub song she makes people unionize to get rid of the toxic leader but a new one comes to his place anyways, yet another hint at the fact that trying to make the system work is useless if the whole thing is faulty

In case others haven't said this yet on Patreon or whevever else but the blue drink that killed the principal is basically poison Crybaby made, which she changed his regular booze with it when she turned her powers on, and was referenced back in Tag You're It/Milk and Cookies double feature where we first sort of shown that blue drink=poison. As for the rabbit, it has its own story with Melanie in her childhood which is why she chose that off all animals but in relation to the Crybaby universe, bunnyheads are doctors. It's a theme of the universe I guess is one way to say it.

as for rabbits, they occupy a special place in her work. Her first pet was a rabbit, which she later gave to her friend who also had a rabbit, she gave it away because she bought a dog and her parents apparently didn't let her keep two animals. After some time, her rabbit was found without a head (I don’t remember how it happened, she talked about this in one of the interviews and she has a tattoo dedicated to this rabbit)

Sorry if anyone else has said this already but I have some thoughts about the part at 16:56. I always thought the meaning of the doll’s intestines being shown at the end was a metaphor for cancel culture in a sense. That she “spilled her guts” so to speak, was vulnerable and shared how she truly felt, but ended up disgusting others and was still was tossed aside. Another clue to this for me was the lyric “It’s really hard for me to say just how I feel, I’m scared that I’ll get thrown away like a banana peel”.

Nurse's Office is just a perfect song. Back to school days, I used to fake injuries and pain to go home because of hatred in my class and fights. I lied that I feel myself bad, my heart hurts or something to have a permission to quit school for a day, sometimes more. I'm not proud for that but that worked ty for the video

16:45 - "Show and Tell." When he said, "Oh, look at the inside," with a disgusted look. I FINALLY understood the message of why she made the doll's organs come out. She's basically saying her "inside" is imperfect, and in the scene where all the children immediately backed off and said "gross," there is a symbolism, as once the students (which symbolize how the "audience" and "society') saw the celebrity for who she actually was and not the "perfect" version of who society painted them as to be, but once the celebrity revealed that they are just a person who also has imperfection ("the organs") just like everyone else , the audience immediately backed off in disgust because society want to put celebrity in a box like a perfect doll and if the perfect doll reveal a bit of something that the society painted as "imperfection" , they will be thrown to the ground or thrown away like rubbish. "organs" = "how she looked inside/ her imperfection / who she TRULY is behind the mask of a celebrity. " *"Everyone has organs"* = "everyone has their own *Imperfection* " Everyone is the same , even celebrities as they are just human like us , they have organs just like us , they have their imperfection JUST LIKE US.

I know Melanie is just our darling little gem who is doing her own thing and reinventing a musoc scene that pays her no mind, but god her work makes me wish she did acting outside of her own work. I dont want ANYONE to mistreat or take advantage of her, and enjoy that shes gone a more independant route so she can have full creative control over her art and life, but she would be such a fun addition to any cast. I guess ill just appriciate the stuff she gives us even more.

For the end of show and tell when her stomach is ripped open and you can see inside her. I always interpreted as being they can see inside her and showing them her true self that she is a human and a person. But as you could see in the seen they say “ew gross” like they don’t want to acknowledge she is human and like them. She is just entertainment for them.

12:10 I wanted to add on that, because sometimes teachers humiliate weak students and spotlight them. they use us as examples of things they don't like about us and teach the kids around us to bully. They know the influence they have as adults and still continue to bully young children for their own self-worth.

When I think of the song Show and Tell I think of what some people say about Melanie, "Melanie deserves her fans, it's her fans that don't deserve her." Which is saying that Melanie deserves all her fame, fortune, and fans but her don't deserve her because a lot of them are just mean and rude. There is a video of 2 people and Melanie and one was recording her without asking while the other was taking pictures of her when she said to stop which is where I think the "people are taking pictures of me when I ask no more" there are so many of her "fans" that take pictures of her without asking and recording her without asking. I find it so sad that some people think ok to do that to her.

For me the Principle song was sort of about how a lot of the staff just kinda fucks you over and ignores all the bullying and harassment in their own schools just for their own reputation, and then have the nerve to say that there’s rarely any harassment and everything is fine. It’s also kinda just how these schools function off of killing artists and producing factory workers. Just like a massive “fuck you” to the school system. I think it might just be heavily influenced by my own experience in schools, but I’ve always interpreted it that way.

Melanie had a pet rabbit who’s head was found in a yard but I’ve also heard rabbits having something to do with the afterlife such as leading you to the light type of thing. I could be off about the second part. But I’m also not to certain about why she uses them in her vids.

The cut on her arm was something they kept from the class fight song, when Kelly stabbed her.

I like how in “the principle” its almost like melanie at the school in pigtails if imagining what she would do to stop other principles like her’s to be hired. And then Melanie with the short curly hair is her actually doing it in the future because she looks more mature

"you are immortal." "but we're exhausted!" "we dont want to feel this anymore.." Exactly. A lot of people when asked what superpower they would want would probably say Immortality and sure immortalitys cool, until you start outliving everybody you care about. To me it feels a lot like having pets. Its awesome to have a pet but you will (almost always) end up outliving them and it can get very painful and exhausting, especially if you've had multiple pets over the years. (can also relate it to being the youngest sibling or just relating it to parents too tbh)

One thing I do want to point out about the scene were she sang “the principle” is that when it cut to where her and a bunch of other girls are trying to “present their case” to the Supreme Court, i know it’s subtle but you can see that everybody on Melanie’s side are women/poc women and on the Supreme Court side it’s a bunch of older white men. Thought it was also funny considering the song was about how she hated Trump lmao 💕

Show and tell is mostly about her and her fans. Like when she says “strangers are taking pictures of me when I ask no more. It’s really hard for me to say just how I’ll feel. I’m scared I’ll get thrown away like a banana peel.” It’s also kinda a message for us as her fans to stop doing that

I’m late but in my opinion the principal is about trump or Obama and she is saying “ where’s the principal “ because the principal (president) is not acting like a leader and if their not doing their job it doesn’t matter it’s like they just don’t exist

7:56 You're right, it is a government thing. If you see this I think you should start looking at the lyrics on "Genius". It shows the meaning behind each line of every song. What it said about "Principle" was that Mel was referring to Donald Trump. He's done so many bad things while *claiming he's a good guy* because *all he wants is cash and hype* he doesnt care about anyone but himself and he *F's our dreams and that's not right*

I think the cut in Show and Tell is supposed to represent hate towards her for being different, and the cuts too low to be from Kelly. The whole song is about how celebrities are treated and viewed by majority of fans, and when they show them true selves the often get casted side. She says if they cut her she'll bleed like them, which could be showing their actions and words do hurt like it would any other person.
