I think with “my friends don’t walk, they run” and with the “getting high of helium” and some other lyrics in this song, she was trying to give an understanding that she was growing up too fast, skipping the chilhood stage of her life by having to mature early through the whole album, and finally getting to the last adult thing, drugs. Also, with “the normals, they make me afraid” I think she’s talking about like all the trauma her mother gave her, and since she was the main person that she had to deal with growing up, that made her think “that’s normal, that’s what normal people do”, making her scared of “normal”

Some examples: the drink at the beginning has a little note that reads "drink me", like the one in the room at the bottom of the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland. Also, in Alice in Wonderland, there are cards painting all the queens' roses from white to red because they planted the wrong colour of roses. The caterpillar mentioned in the song is the one that tells Alice that one side of the mushroom he's sitting on would make her bigger and the other one smaller.

There are 3 more songs in the crybaby album, they do not belong to the plot of the main album, they are included in the deluxe version and do not have music videos, except for "playdate" this song has a lyric video 3. The k-12 film includes all the songs from the album, including the single "fire drill" in the credits. She later released an afterschool ep which was included in the deluxe version of the album. This EP does not relate to the album and has more personal themes. I would advise you to go through these deluxe versions, they are also very interesting and are not inferior in quality to other songs in the albums.
