Yes, X used to do that on purpose with the "bad" audio quality. In his older songs he really didnt had a good production studio, in his "newer" songs he had a good production studio but he still liked that how he and many people called it "raw" sound. It just fits his style perfectly.

specifically on this album he actually recorded it all on a snowball microphone cause that was all him and ski mask could afford at the time

There are videos of X saying that he purposely makes his music sound certain ways for certain frequencies that effect the brain in specific ways

He started recording at different frequencies as well. Certain frequencies effect the human response. A lot of music gives off a frequency that causes negative thoughts and anxiety. Later on he started recording frequencies to actually make people feel good and happy. He was LITERALLY trying to change how people felt and reacted to his music. Its actually really interesting.

Yeah the good frequency is 432 HZ and that's what he said in the interview with DJ akademiks.. and I'm pretty sure they killed him for this .. talking abt how the mainstreams platforms using the frequencies to let ppl depressed and sad...

One of my favourite songs by him, I would listen to this on loop in my darkest times on full volume to just drain my reality and fill my head up with his voice. I truly think without me finding x when I did I may not be here today. A lot of people don’t understand why and I’m okay with that. LLJ a real legend and saviour for many of us ❤️

Such an amazing and gritty song! Much enjoyed this. It reminded me of how I felt for so many years in the past. Pretty dark times feeling like I had no one. I would pray to god with a 6 shot revolver in my hand. One bullet in the cylinder asking god if today was the day he would allow me to move out of this body w/o a care of where my soul was going.I can say today that I don't play Russian Roulette anymore. That's the past and can say I've gained a lot of mental health along the way. I can finally say I don't want to die today; I'd rather deal with my issues and fix my life for the better. A lot of X’s older music was recorded in a bedroom with one of the cheapest USB microphones money can buy (think it’s a blue snowball to be specific). I think it gives the music a real dark vibe and it’s actually amazing.

The backstory to his feelings leading up to this album was he flew a girl that he knew out to Florida where he lived to get her into modeling because he thought she was beautiful and of course were talking romantically and she sadly took her own life in the hotel room he got for her. So tragic. This was released in august 2017 so around a year before he died

Short X life breakdown. troubled relationship with his mom diagnosed with bipolar disorder depressed and insecure Started making music, much more angry stuff. never managed to stay away from crime completely. charged for a small amount of weed in 2013 charged for stabbing his former manager in 2016 tons of other charges from home invasion and assault to domestic violence and robbery he got out of prison to his single "Look at Me" and some of the other stuff he released while in prison blowing up and even charting and catapulting him to stardom on platforms like soundcloud. from that point onwards tried to change himself then the jocelyn flores thing happened, which he made a song about. (long story short, he invited 2 girls to model for his merch, of which one turned sour against the other and so he kicked both out, which lead to one of them Jocely, killing herself the same night in her hotel room) Soon after he finished his next studio album, he got shot outside a motorcycle dealership there have been 3 new albums released since, of which 2 were collection of the stuff that was work in progress when he passed and the last one being released just a few months ago, which basically brought a mix of his older songs and some leftovers to streaming. Overall, one of the many artists that have gone too soon and one of the most insane character progressions ever. From criminal to inspirational and poetic artists who would see the majority of his success after passing away.
