There are so many wonderful things to say about Slipknot and Corey as musicians and song writers. Corey is an outstanding song writer, lyricist and vocalist. The band members are all geniuses and masters of their instrument. They can play anything and everything and over the years they have. In both Slipknot and Stone Sour. Ive been a huge fan since 1999. I saw the video for Wait and Bleed and Ive been with them since and Ive seen them live many times. Stone Sour, too. We dont have the time, space or patience to analyze each and every song. Im happy you discovered them, enjoyed your video, and look forward to hearing more.

I'm pretty diverse in my musical tastes. This was THE first Slip Knot I ever heard, and loved it. Interesting thing, is that a lot of them are in their 50's and they have had a powerful reassurance with a new drummer. I mean even at their age, they put on a massive high powered show.

Stone Sour was a successful band that Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor did without a mask when Slipknot was off the road... Guitarist Jim Root of Slipknot was also a member - they had 5 members ... Shawn 'Clown' Crahan (percussion) started rehearsing wearing a clown mask when Slipknot first formed and it freaked the others out... but they liked the idea of wearing masks and matching jumpsuits on stage so that the band was faceless but the music took the focus. They were a local Iowa extreme metal band - there was not much else to do there but play music. In 1996, the original Slipknot recorded an indie album 'Feed, mate, kill repeat'... w/ Anders Colsefni (vocals) and the band had fewer members including Shawn 'Clown' Crahan, Paul Gray (bass), Joey Jordison (drums) and Craig '133' Jones (keyboards/ samples) ... the guitarists were Donnie Steele and Josh Brainard... By 1998, Corey Taylor (lead vocals) replaced Anders Colsefni... Mick Thomson (guitar) replaced Donnie Steele... DJ Sid Wilson (turntables) and Chris Fehn (percussion) were added, making Slipknot a 9-piece band... The band signed w/ producer Ross Robinson and started recording their self-titled debut album... Jim Root (guitar) replaced Josh Brainard after most of the album was recorded. Slipknot made a huge buzz on the Ozzfest '99 tour before the 'Slipknot' album was even released and it went on to sell 2x platinum... In 2001, Slipknot would co-headline Ozzfest '01 w/ Black Sabbath before releasing their 2nd album 'Iowa' ... which was the heaviest record at the time to chart in the US top 5 and sell platinum (1 million copies) Slipknot took a break in 2002 but returned in 2004 to deliver the stellar 3rd album 'Vol. 3: the Subliminal verses'... which sold platinum in the US after charting at #2... In 2008, the classic Slipknot released their #1 charting album 'All hope is gone'... which also sold platinum and the band was a massive success touring into 2009... Sadly, it was also the last album to feature the classic 9-member band, featuring Taylor, Crahan, Gray, Jordison, Thomson, Root, Wilson, Jones and Fehn. In 2010, Paul Gray was found dead from a prescription OD. Slipknot toured in 2012 to honor their late bassist... but in 2013, Joey Jordison (drums) was fired after failing to appear in rehearsals due to health issues. Joey Jordison passed away in 2021 (He also played guitar and released numerous projects outside of Slipknot... Murderdolls, Scar the Martyr, Vimic, and Sinsaenum) In 2014, Slipknot released the album ".5: The Gray Chapter" in honor of the late Paul Gray... Alessandro Venturella (bass) joined Slipknot for the tour... Jay Weinberg (drums) did the record in Joey Jordison's absence and joined the band. Slipknot has since released "We are not your kind" in 2019 (charting at #1 in the US) ... and "The End so far" in 2022 (charting at #2) ...The band had also fired percussionist Chris Fehn... sampler Craig '133' Jones has also left Slipknot... drummer Jay Weinberg was recently fired and replaced by former Sepultura drummer Eloy Casagrande... and r back on tour w/ their replacements... Corey Taylor is such a great vocalist. Not only is hie the singer for Slipknot, he's also the singer for Stone Sour. Both massively successful rock bands and on top of that he has a solo career. You should check out "Corey Taylor - Snuff (Live in London)"
