Great video mate! Such an awesome upgrade considering how fucking enormous 17Z/18Z's are! Definitely intend on doing this on my R32 in the future.
@ianpgonzaga3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dutton. 17z as an assembly only looks larger because of the caliper. The rotor is actually smaller in diameter than your R32. If you wants the REALLY big brake look the 18z “look” a lot bigger because of the rotor size and the caliper sits further out from the centre of the hub. So comparing them in Order from smallest to largest rotor diameter 17z - 330mm TT 3.2/S 8J - 340mm Golf R32, Passat R36 - 345mm 18z - 350mm TTRS 4pot - 365mm

Hi Chris. I ended up getting different wheels with a et40 spec. Could easily clearance with hub centric spacers too.

Thanks Ian. Yep I did see that in your next video. I am running BBS 18X8 with 50 offset and 10 mm spacer, which will need another 2-3mm to clear the calliper. Do you think the RSe11R 18X8.5 45 offset will give me enough clearance without the spacer?

@ianpgonzaga2 жыл бұрын
You will probably need at least a 10mm spacer. 15mm to be "safe". You will want to get the hard brake line coming out from the TT 3,2 or similar. The rubber line you can re use.

Hey there - i can follow up once we're out of lockdown (which has just been announced as indefinite unless community transmission gets under control) and the car is in storage. I don't want to risk getting caught by the cop. I've only done the one track day but had been driving most weekend with the brakes. I'd say another 4000km on them? Still holding up well and not really many signs of visible wear. Will update when i can ;)
