Sweet lord this is better than porn. My ultimate workshop fantasy. Everything fits perfectly, it's all so clean and all the tools are there! Nothing wrung, cross threaded, snapped or needed a sledge hammer and 2L of release oil to remove. Even the way he opens a plastic packet is satisfying!!! Bravo.

...weil wir in dem Video auf den Austausch des RWDR hinweisen wollten. Grundsätzlich ist es richtig, dass Anlaufring gewechselt werden sollte. Wir bieten den Satz mit und ohne Laufring an, ggf. wird der auch mit dem Schwung angeliefert sofern dieser ausgetauscht wird. Sie haben aber Recht, um keine Missverständnisse aufkommen zu lassen wäre ein Hinweis darauf sicherlich gut. Danke und mit freundlichem Gruß vom Service Team

Hello, I explained so often - the movie is just ONE example, valid for several engines - just to show how to handle this Elring part. We do NOT give any torques or angles. This you can read in the Workshop Manual of that engine. For that we show a pictogram. Important is to understand that there are stretch bolts which needs torqueing and tightening with angles. Hello, we had this comment a few month ago - a answered already. We followed the OE manual from this times. Of course, I agree, using the press might be more smart, but with the correct tooling which makes sure that the hammer knocks just hit the outer ring of the bearing this method is acceptable. But once more, I agree with you, if a press is available this would be the better way to install. Kind regards from our Service Team

Hello glenbjack, yes, that´s actual Technology of PTFE oil seal. A very special "plastic" sealing lip instead of the standard elastomere lip with spring pressure. Really good stuff, but sensitive to handle and to install. We recommend to follow the instructions step by step. Most important is dry installation and the usage of the mounting device. The engine? It´s 500 series of Mercedes Actros. Kind regards from the Service Team

Why should we? We are a little slow - but strong :-)… What some do not understand - this is a movie which shows some working steps how to handle our products, this is NOT a 100% service manual. YES, you can use air impact or torque multipliers - but we just want to show the rudimental way of working - as a kind of reminder. That´s it! The problem with any air pressure tools is - if you show in movies - some customer think this is a MUST, but on some engines it´s prohibited to use because of a higher risk of damages. Hy Jonn, different risks I would say - using a hydraulic press is always a little smoother, I agree - but there are really high forces which have to be controlled perfectly. This is sometimes not so easy, especially by handling parts like the truck flywheel. In case of any wrong use, you can easily crack or deform the housings or parts. Knocking in the bearing is maybe the "old style method" but if a special tool is in use - we use the one Mercedes described in old workshop manual - there should be no risk. The tool leads the force of the hammer knocks just to the outer bearing shell - this should NOT lead to problems. BUT - as you mentioned - a question of religion, there will be always two opinion. Hy Stanimir, that´s important information. As I wrote, I agree - but in that case our way of doing was not wrong. We had a special tool in use to knock on the outer ring of the bearing and there is a difference from applikation to application, too. Hello, yes it was our intention NOT to show this detail. Our movies should always show the general way of working and to do the job properly. The details you can see in the manual depending what engine you repair. For the bolts on the flywheel several possibilities are existing - standard bolts (re-useable) with additional glue, stretch-bolts (not re-useable) mostly prepared with some thread locker on the new bolts, dry installation of bolts - and so on. But you are right - on some engines thread locker is recommended, thanks for your worthy comment. Kind regards from our Service Team

Hello Li Chee, when using PTFE seals you have to use special devices in cone shape. While doing so you widen the inner diameter of the sealing lip. The re-deformation effect of the sealing lip needs some time. Under perfect conditions this will need much shorter than 4 hrs, but in some cases, depending how wide you are opening the the sealing lip diameter, it can take up to 4 hrs. In this time you should not start the engine. Turning the crank is allowed. Reason for this process is, the sealing lip diameter is mostly smaller than the diameter of shaft edge. If you don´t take care there will be oil under the sealing lip which leads to leakages. Kind regards from the Service Team

Sie nehmen es hier sehr genau, kritisch betrachtet kann ich Ihnen aber Recht geben, die Reihenfolge ist die zweitbeste - aber ganz ehrlich, das ist nicht unsere oberste Priorität. Wir sind froh wenn die Monteure alle grundlegenden Schritte befolgen. Ich weise in diesem Zusammenhang darauf hin, dass im Falle eines übermäßigen Verschleißes auf der Lauffläche der Dichtlippe ein Reparatursatz mit Laufring erhältlich ist (siehe TSI 15/2010) - egal wie es also ausgegangen wäre, wir hätten fachgerecht verfahren können ohne Zeit oder Material zu verschwenden. Weil wir gerade dabei sind - ich verrate Ihnen ein Geheimnis - wir hatten das schon vorher bei der Erstellung des Drehbuches angesehen, wussten also was uns erwartet. Dennoch befolgen wir Ihren Rat, wir werden fleißig üben... Aber vorher gibt es einen guten Kaffee :-) In diesem Sinne verbleibe ich mit den allerbesten Grüßen von unserem Service Team
