Train Simulator 2015 - Route Learning: Castle Douglas to Stranraer Harbour (Class 111)

My Mum was from Stranraer and would have been in her late teens when Beeching butchered this lovely route. Thank-you for the video. FYI The station house at Palnure is still there (painted white, and has been a private residence for as long as I can remember). You can still see bits of the line from the A75 and surrounding roads in places. And one of my Mum's firends lives just up from where the old Newton Stewart station used to be. The last Harbour station in the UK is still going but is a sad reflection of even what I remmber as a child from the 1970's, as the expense to keep de-silting Stranraer meant all boat traffic shifted to Cairnryan and the Harbour area in Stranraer resembles a wear zone today. That said the run up to Ayr via Girvan and wilderness between is still there for now. My hope is that the kind of efforts that saved the Settle and Carlisle will save that line, and who knows in the future, if the economics ever made sense, the Southern route might also make a comeback one day. New Galloway Station was actually in a village called Mossdale. New Galloway is 6 miles from Mossdale

No problem. I will look forward to seeing more new videos. By the way, have you got the freeware Dublin to Cork route yet? It looks great and I hope that you would consider doing a video on this route as it comes with a good range of Irish rolling stock as well. It only requires the Isle of Wight route for some of the scenery and the Class 66 Pack for the sounds in order to use the GM 201 Class locomotive :). Best Regards Ash.

Oh I would Like to add that Downtown San Diego is a quite zone so no train horns cant be used while in the Downtown aera up until Old Town then you can use the horns again

"no bits missing "...?? would be great....as I have a video from Leicester to Sheffield..( complete journey )...but the one I have of S.P to Leicester..has loads MISSING.......it jumps from Cricklewood...to Harpenden...this part is not shown...also other sections of the run...so yeh, could you do one complete..?? :) ~ Steve.

Amazing vid to watch time & time again, though at the stations you pass through non-stop such as gatehouse of fleet you should drop to around 10mph in order to exchange the single line tokens as in reality you would have to surrender the token before entering the next section! :)

PTGRail it's one of my favourites. Though just be careful if you drive a HST on this route. At every opportunity it will try to accelerate to full speed.

John Warren Hi John, thank you for your comment :) Each video takes many hours to produce, it's certainly not a quick process! Thank you for offering to promote this channel. I haven't sold on any of my scenarios so far but I have considered it. It will help me with raising funds towards the cost of a new computer and new DLC. I'm just not sure where I could sell them. I have released three or four scenarios from these videos for free on Steam Workshop. You can find me on there under 'PTGRail'.

John Warren Hi John, I believe that is it permissible to sell scenarios on in this way, but the next question is who would buy them? :) Many need quite a wide variety of DLC.. but if you are interested then let me know and I will see what I can do :)

I would buy them.... I have recently transferred to TS2015 from Trainz and whilst I created loads of routes for Trainz, I haven't really done much with TS2015 yet. It's not like I can't afford it, but I resent the over priced (in my opinion). DLC. Maybe when the next sale is on I shall get quite a few. Have you thought about doing a tutorial on creating scenarios? There aren't many videos around for that and with you style you would be very good at it. What about listing your pc specs under your 'About' information? Are you looking to upgrade your pc, or are you just going for a new one?
