Hi, where you able to remove the PTO from your 97 GTI without removing the engine? seems like every video I've seen, people took the engine out to remove the PTO. And if you were able to remove it while the engine was still in the hull, how hard was it to come off?

Great info. Just wanted to add that using an impact, while tempting, is a big no no! It destroys crank bearings or significantly reduces the usable life they have left. Sadly heat and breaker bars are about the only good way to go.

Thanks for the video. One quick question. I have a Seadoo gtx jet ski that is leaking oil in that has an oil leak from that area. Did you notice if there a seal from the motor to the PTO? Just curious. I haven't started digging into it yet.

How you make the oil change on that engine?

That's a 2 stroke engine. Does not have engine oil. Runs with 2 stroke oil mixed with gasoline.

Thanks. I just make these videos from time to time in hopes they help someone. It’s been a while since I did this project and can’t remember exactly how much the parts cost but I do remember I bought them from www.shopsbt.com/SFNT.html I do remember having to call them though because I couldn’t find them on the website. Also if you have Facebook there is a few groups that have tons of information and knowledge people that can help with questions.
