Man, this some of the best advice I've seen offered in a long time. My dad taught me how to ride properly at slow speeds. Your advice is a mirror of what he taught me a long long time ago. Do one of your tricks, I love that, it's not a trick its just using your head and common sense, anyone can let the clutch out and twist the throttle, I call what your trying to teach people is Patience and self confidence , I've been applying it to my riding and it does work, practicing only makes you better and it just becomes 2nd nature !!!

I looked at other riders with both feet out as they come to a stop and slow riding and thought that must be normal. Then I found your channel and realized they are normal but not correct or safe. Hello Mr. Simmons Appreciate the advice. I practiced Saturday and I dropped my bike. I broke a mirror and my handlebars are bent a bit. Got the brake pedal bent a little bit back. I think my issue was I didn't counterbalanced enough. I leaned too far at a lower speed and the uh oh kicked in. As flustered as I was I got back up and practiced again. Definitely need to get engine guards. I appreciate you taking the time to help us become better riders.
Robert, I've never been to any of your practice sessions but all of your videos have helped me so much. I'm a sport bike rider and I'm always trying to be better at slow speed maneuvers. Thank you for making these videos for people like me.

Great message! Your channel and Jerry Palladino's are single handedly responsible for building my confidence to feel comfortable on my Roadglide ST I bought last year. I upgraded from my learner Street 500 bike and had the RG delivered to the underground carpark in my apartment complex. At first I was too scared to ride it and was contemplating getting a trainer to come, but then I found your channel and bro, after just seven days of practicing for half an hour a day in the carpark I was able to easily do left and right turns from a stop using the car spaces as a marker. Even little wins like being able to do a wide u-turn up the next ramp felt amazing after starting out with uh oh and duckwalk moments 😂 What blew my mind the most was how little time it took to being able to do 90 degree turns from a stop and u-turns. I had this image in my head of practicing for months but it was around 3-4 days at half an hour a day to get the confidence to try them and maybe another 3 lots of half an hour to reinforce the technique. Thanks for everythhing and keep making this amazing content!
Last year, I went to one of your practice sessions in New Jersey. I didnt participate because I found out last minute. However, just by watching, I learned so much. I took the knowledge, practiced and have become a better rider. I look forward to attending one your course in the near future.Thank you sir.

We definitely need to be balanced. But I've been to classes at the track also. Everyone can't ride a motorcycle fast with skills. Maybe going straight and big wide turns But let something happen where the basic swerve and or emergency braking is needed or a blind turn where you need to trailbrake to prevent running eide off the road.. Keep doing what you do love you bro

Dropped my Road King for first time in 3 years, and not riding was trying to back into a parking place a to work and since I am very poor at slow tight turns, I over shot lining up to parking spot and I tried to guide it in back wards, barely turning the bars and got them turned too much and bike leaned to the left and went down, not once but twice. I try to practice as much as I can, but need lots lots more.

I was just thinking, you work a lot with the clutch in the friction zone. How does that work for a cvt transmission (aka scooter) or an electric motorcycle (“direct drive”)? Can you reach the same level of control? (I know it’s also a skill)

Hey Rob. I'm a new rider of about 2 months. Took MSF course. How long should I wait until I take an intermediate class or advanced class like yours?? I want to be the boss of my own motorcycle. Should I get more road experience first? Or just take it now?? What do you recommend?? TIA
@RidingandWrenching6 ай бұрын
Start right now! If you have an opportunity to participate in a practice session, you should. The best thing about them is that you can go as far as you can.....If you can only go through exercise 3, that fine....maybe next time, you can get through exercise 5. As long as you take the things you learn....and practice them at home, you will continue to get better.
