The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel kzbin.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.

I do this all the time when the river by my house floods.. I'll catch them in little pools like that then throw them back in the river.. If you ain't gonna eat it give it back to nature

I've enjoyed watching your videos and seeing you catch fish in tiny places. Normally I fly fish for trout in my local small creeks but your videos have made me realize how much fun can be had fishing in unlikely spots. I'll search for the tiny size 18 hooks and small floats that I used to use sometimes when I was a keen English style coarse fisherman. The sliced up hotdogs for bait looks a great idea. Thanks for posting your videos, Cheers, Steve.

+618 Fishing Hi there mate, i really enjoy your videos. and i subbed. I'd like to know how to catch eels, because here where i live (portugal) me and my uncle we found a small river wich makes a small creek about (3 meters wide) and in that creek exist many many eels and they are good to eat , they are about 15 or 20 cm. and i cant find a good bait for them .Earthworm is good enough ?if so how can i catch them? with a small hook? If you could reply to this comment/answer I'd appreciate , anyway , keep doing videos . i really enjoy them, Cheers mate
@618Fishing8 жыл бұрын
Hello St.Joker! Sounds like you found a pretty cool fishing spot. Unfortunately there are no eels near where I live so I'm probably not the best person to ask for advice on catching them. If I did happen to come across eels living in a small creek though I would definitely try using earthworms on a small hook with maybe a bobber. Around here if I am having a hard time getting fish to bit I always resort to using worms and it will usually work. Thanks for commenting/subscribing St. Joker and best of luck to you and your uncle!

When I was a kid, I used to catch those green sunfish and creek chubs in a drainage ditch that ran through my neighborhood in suburban Maryland. One time I followed the little stream about a mile to where it ran under a bridge under a highway and I caught two 12 inch creek chubs and one 9 incher floating a bait under the bridge. Never caught creek chubs near that size before or after that day.

I love fishing but my parents don't. I don't even have a takle box or rod I use a stick with a string tied to it with a hook on the end. I fish in this tiny stream in the woods. My parents say it's to expensive for the fishing stuff but they said if I had the stuff they would take me better places. Ps I'm 14. Oh and bye the way your fishing skills are amazing please keep posting!!
@618Fishing8 жыл бұрын
+Zek Domgjoni hey thanks Zek! Where do you live? There are plenty of cheap rods and reels that do just fine for starting out. Walmart usually has some inexpensive kits that come with everything you need to begin fishing. A stick with line and hook tied to it would've done pretty good at the fishing spot in this video

creek chub, pumpkin seed, shinner? or bass? and ..longears. l love it. fishing is not about size, it's about discovering varieties of breeds in the undiscovered waterways.
@colinsoileau50337 жыл бұрын
Actually if you want to get a good fight its about size. And what is fishing without a good fight?
@tristasherouse49467 жыл бұрын
exactly
@420blackbirds87 жыл бұрын
it's not a real fight. 90% of the time you win. and even if you the fish gets loose. the fish will die from the hook in the mouth. so in any case you win again. the fish don't get a free meal. fishing is not about "fighting" as more about "perceived fighting" if you enjoy that part of the sport. this type of fishing is about small surprised and quiet solitude.

Thanks for sharing this video. You're right - an amazing amount of fish in that little area. I wonder - Should you maybe take those fish out and transfer them to a pond, so that they'd survive the hot summertime, when puddles like this get dried up? Of course, on the other hand, raccoons have to eat, too! :)Anyway - Thank you. This was enjoyable.
