Wes Scantlin mentioned in an interview with VH1 that "Away from Me" was written about how he was lied to and deceived in a relationship. A music video was created for the song, and can be found on the Life on Display CD when inserted into a computer's CD drive. The song is also one of Puddle of Mudd's most successful songs, charting the highest of any song on the Life on Display album. I watched the song Blurry and it is exactly how I feel about my child as her Dad treats her like a side piece and that was my 10 year old's exact words to me about that and I was just crushed for her. I am having the State come in and sue his ass for support now. He has not paid for his child in 9 years. It is horrible but I am very proud of Wes. He has come back strong. I know that everyone always has something shitty to say about him from his past but we are not defined by whom we once were and he is trying to turn his life around and for that I am so proud of him!
