cooking a steak in the oven. I got this from a Rachael Ray cook book and it works like a charm. Go ahead and put your broiler on high. And let it heat up all the way. Go ahead and season your steak or whatever you do normally. For every inch thick it's 5 minutes. So if you have an inch thick New York strip for example. Put it onto a baking sheet. Put it in the oven with the oven door cracked so the broiler coil constantly stays on high. Have your oven rack at the top setting. 5minutes in and then flip and then another three to five minutes on the other side and you generally get medium rare.I told cook time of 7 to 10 minutes. And do not cut your steak because that's when all the juices come out but the broiler works great because you pretty much char the outsides the keep the juices in. Just like the grill

Fouad, you need one of the fancy thermometers, you can monitor it on your phone, and have an alert that goes off when internal temp hits 130-135. This way you can cook a perfect steak every time. Throw it on the grill, direct heat (like 500 degrees) for 2 minutes each side, then move to to a side that has had the heat turned off, and cook on indirect heat, and monitor that thermometer. Your steak will come out perfect.
