well, many people wouldn't have heard what the scientists' predictions were if al gore didn't do his part. his language (and career) may have been imprecise, but just like how he played a pivotal role in getting the internet started off, he also did so in establishing the conversation about climate change. back before the inconvenient truth, most people did not realise the impact had already hit some places (and that was 20 years ago, geez), and most people did not realise celebrities could really draw attention to such issues in a personal and involved manner. al gore didn't "just" told you about it, he told a generation about it who might otherwise be ignorant denialists on the wrong side of history today. if anything, i wish he'd been able to to tell MORE people about it.

That climate change segment made me shudder, for the first time since the modern debate had started that I may have come to realise that we might be too late. There is definitely something wrong with the climate, and we are doing nothing about it. There's something wrong. And I don't think we can stop it.

I would hardly call Nugent an anarchist; he's voted for Trump, and the working definition of "anarchist" is someone who is opposed to government. If he's a anarchist why would he support a man or a woman running for public office, a government position?

Puerto Rico presents a chance to 'greenify' an entire society, with solar, wind, electric cars, and satellite phones instead of vulnerable towers. Now's the time. In addition I wish there were a way to cash in on the energy of such storms, and at least save the rainwater when systems break down.

Love Paul Hawken. Read his book Ecology of Commerce which was immense. But I couldn't disagree with him more when he says climate activism / science shouldn't come from privileged white men. We can't keep demonizing white men, it just makes more white supremacists and bigotry. True science should just stand for what it is.

Hefner did more for civil rights, LGBT rights, and the black community than any of the people on the show ever has or will. He was a big supported and FUNDER of Martin Luther King, and many other civil rights icons. Martin Luther King gave his longest interview on record to Playboy magazine. Also, this nutcase April Ryan says you're supposed to ALWAYS see every facet of someone's life when you're looking at them. Oh, really? So, if she were hiring someone to do a job for her, would she look at their life's struggles and all facets of their personality, or would she just find someone who's going to provide the greatest value for the least money? These people are so hypocritical in their real life dealings. They just come up with nonsense that they spout off on talk shows and in magazines, which they never live by, and which rarely have any internal logical consistency.

No, but he had them sign unfair contracts where they could not profit from their own pictures, no matter how they were used or how many times they were republished, except for a minimal initial flat fee. His "Playboy Clubs" in the 1960s were notorious for how they overworked women while paying them minimally, and were eventually all closed down when their practices got out, and Hefner knew of their practices. So, no gun, but a hell of a lot of exploitation, which Hefner was never held accountable for, but should have been.

I can't stand women harping on about the objectification of women. Is she genuinely suggesting that when women slaver over a picture of a ripped, shirtless male, below the surface they're taking time to admire every other aspect of his make up. Bullshit. The difference is men suck it up. It fact they don't. They just don't get their panties in a twist about it in the first place. This is what makes feminism so intolerable. The insistence of applying it to every faction of life. Women want the best of both. To be powerful, but also to be the victim.

I live in Florida, I want to move. The weather is not what it used to be. I do not want to be on the coastline that gets the first category 6.it is coming.Arguing about who did it, is like arguing about which came first, the chicken or the egg.In the end, the egg is broken, and nothing can put it back together again.

Ok the next things that we must address are: 1. Puerto Rico's extreme and urgent needs ( as well and the on-going needs of Texas and Florida ) 2. Trump's UNACCEPTABLE insulting of the Mayor of San Juan.

Why are we talking about "if" the regions affected by repeated hurricanes become inhabitable? Those places will definitely become inhabitable in a matter of decades. It's not if but when.

They need to learn how to let people finish their thoughts. Be less antagonistic and dismissive. It just comes off unsophisticated and messy.

Dick Wolf needs to make a show where Internal Affairs are the heroes. I think when that happens America will deal with bad cops

Great idea! When they talked about TV shows influencing culture, my thought was that there needs to be a show where the president gets impeached. I really like your suggestion too!

Every single person on this panel has missed a much bigger issue. Fracking the North American Plate has *LIKELY* caused the NoAm Plate to become unstable. That instability has made the NoAm Plate to shift westward, pushing the Cocos Plate underneath it in (at least so far) TWO major earthquakes. The westward shift has caused a New Atlantic Volcanic Vent (hydrothermal vent) just SW of the Azores, which is spewing heat at over 530 degrees F. This needs to be acknowledged.

Hugh Hefner was a righteous dude. I will never forget how Malcolm X didn't believe Playboy would give him an honest interview without changing his words and bastardizing his positions. Malcolm X gave Hef props for being a man of his word.
