That thing is crazy cool! I love the extreme tone shaping its capable of. Also, the colors, and that Starcaster swoosh on the headstock, its just all the great parts, one guitar. Great observation Keith!

Bless your wife’s heart for helping out. This clearly took awhile to make and we appreciate it. I had my wife restring a guitar five times so I could do a “blind string test”, locking tuners of course (I’m not that evil 😉).

Elliott those people had a huge thread absolutely ripping me to shreds personally over a decal. They called me a phony and a hypocrite over a sticker jfc. I remember the specific post that said something like "He says he's proud of his Squier but I would question his integrity for using a Fender decal" and I lost it. Just unreal the stuff people care about

I gotta say, 3P0 is amazing. Thats got some tones that I've had in my head that nothing yet has made. I started in 94', and I've had several vintage Fender offsets, and that thing is like a Dreamcaster.

I agree the Bass-VI is a cool instrument, I have a similar one an Ibanez SR406NT from 1998. It too is a 6 strings altho unlike yor Bass-VI, which at first glance looks like a slightly oversized guitar, my bass is VERY obviously a bass. Its huge and heaby, but love it cuz I can play it as an octave lower guitar albeit with a slightly different strum and fretting techniques. Never seen a Bass-6 here in Hawai'i and would love to get one! 👍🏼

Proof that Puisheen is a freak of nature. The Bass IV was in his hands for about 1.2 seconds before he guessed it. Then to top that he guessed R2 by SMELL! Who else can recognize their guitars by fragrance? Keep the great tones coming. BTW...what does Puisheen actually mean?

This dumb handle of mine is a holdover from college where were were playing Timesplitters 2 multiplayer on PS2 and I needed a login since 'guest' was taken. I had to choose something and the only thing that came to mind was the sound of a cartoon sword being unsheathed, so I spelled that phonetically and bam!

Duncan I got to see them a few years back at the Hollywood Bowl and while it was a great show, the band was plagued with sound and tech issues that night so I feel like I didn't get the *full* experience

Great fun - great, interesting collection. You def an offset Boi! One thing I notice, while you're such an interesting player, with a seemingly endless bag of riff/songs to pull out...can I just say, you strum your accoustics really close to the bridge. Sometimes this can be for added steeliness...but it seems you always strum there. You lose a lot of body, strumming there, did you know..? Anyhow...great video. Love the Jazzies!

No special considerations other than making sure your nut is cut for those tiny string gauges. Intonation will definitely need to be adjusted as well

There are HB sized WR out there but they never quite sound the same to me, and personally while the WR and JM sound are in a similar wheelhouse in my mind, they're also very different

I just vastly prefer the feel of the older, stiffer springs on '60s vibratos, and particularly '58-'61 PAT PEND units, though they all feel way better to me than reissue. AVRI is great, I just like more spring tension

@@sharonlee4773 Of course, no problem. Springs CAN be found on Darren Riley or Angela from time to time but they haven't been around for some time. Mastery is a good option for stiffer springs too

AGREED. Really, anything with a .095" or better on the low E works, but I prefer the LaBella 767-F flat wound set
