A Fact-Based Conversation
Back in October 22, David joined me on Economics Matters -- the Podcast to discuss The Rise or Fall? of Donald Trump. The former President is clearly on the rise. The bookies put his odds at over 50 percent. There is no one better placed to discuss Trump's rise, fall, and potential resurrection than David Cay Johnston -- author of not one, not two, but three books on the former president.
Love Trump, hate Trump -- no one is in between, you will love this podcast. Yes, David has his own view of Trump, which he doesn't hide, every statement he makes about specifics is based on facts, not opinion. That's, in part, why only the select few earn the Pulitzer. The other part is sheer brilliance.
David's an economics and tax specialist. He teaches law at the University of Syracuse. In 2001, David won the Pulitzer Prize for Beat Reporting. His Wiki page goes on at great, spell-binding length. Please read it. David's arguably our nation's top investigative journalist.
Here's a list of David's Trump books.

You speak of behavior. Take some time and slowly study human group-behavior. What you discover will make you sick to your stomach, but that is who we are. It can be used for good, it can be used for profit, i.e., making money or even worse, it can be used for Evil, i.e., self-glorification, which is what Hitler and Stalin did and what Trump will do if given the chance.

Yeah he has been in court with fake lawsuits since he changed to a repub and ran against HRC close to 8 years of fake lawsuits. Before then he was good guy. Stormy was on Jimmy Kimmel and told everyone nothing happened between her and Trump but so many dims don't look for the truth they are brainwashed by the lying media. Trump has lost millions because he is for America not the cabal. How do poor presidents become millionaires and buy island homes? They are on the take. Putin has rescued Ukrainians who are Russian. Ukraine the size of Texas was seized so cabal could set up bioweapon labs also adrenachrome factories and miltary landing strips. Also places to hide sex trafficked children that putin and his military have rescued. Putin, Xi, Modi and Trump as CIC, and many other world leaders formed the alliance to take down drug and sex trafficking sites all over the world. Don't believe me. Check out the executive orders Trump has put in place and Biden has extended. They had hoped to set up missles and tell Putin if he doesn't comply with the evil they nuke all their people. If the msm attacks someone they are doing good for the world. The USA is number 1 in the purchasing and distributing children for sex trafficking and adrenachrome selling. Hollywood is a big purchaser of the drug. Hence why the border must be open. See the Sound of Freedom. No excuse for being used to hate good, the truth is out there.

Why do you insist on being as obnoxious as the people who post "Trump 2024" in the comments sections? Voting blue hasn't helped. That's how he ended up with Biden as president and his administration expanded the federal government further, increased the national debt to the point where Trump's own contributions look modest by comparison, and he sanctioned that Russian pipeline that preceded the war in Ukraine.

His wife and youngest son have dual US/EU citizenship and each hold 2 passports. They can go to any EU country and be accepted no questions asked, no need to get visas. Barron Trump, who is now 18 and a legal adult, enjoys an unusually privileged global status because U.S. citizens born to 2 U.S. citizens on U.S. soil are very seldom granted dual citizenship with other nations. They have to earn that special privilege. Barron had the good luck to have a native-born Slovenian mother who made sure her son has an escape hatch when his daddy goes nuclear. No pun intended. They can go anytime. Donald would likely join them at some point, if he's still alive, when things get too hot for him here. He's a coward. David Cay Johnson thank you a very informative interesting content and this interview. I am from across the pond, but am hoping it is Supermax and not the White House. I would just like to say, others have obviously been asleep at the wheel, allowing him to take these documents away in the first instance. He was obviously hoping to profit from them, money is his god.

He'll do the same thing he did before - claim it was rigged and call for his supporters to have a 'bloodbath'. Trouble is, this time he's not in the White House already and very few people are going to risk prison for him. His remaining supporters are couch-locked and aren't exactly going to start a Revolutionary War. He's hitting them all up for money to pay E Jean Carroll and NYC and his lawyers, so they're either broke or resentful of the begging. And he's getting more and more obviously insane. By November? Stark raving mad.
