Not sure what is more impressive your dad doing all those pullups or him still being active and building things like that. Nice!
@sir_john_hammond5 жыл бұрын
He's maybe 60, let's not overstate things here... my dad was still building shit at 84.
@alimfuzzy5 жыл бұрын
@Cam overstate things much? no you interrupted it that way. I was just paying the guy a compliment. I gave up on wood work, metal work and restoring years ago because work got in the way. I love when people still can create in their spare time, especially practical things like gym equipment.

@@Smackosynthesis I'm 220lbs and I can do 25...(Gave me a nicely tapered silhouette and thick back too!) It's not hopeless. Keep at it!
@harrislam5 жыл бұрын
@@neoncrusader7244 i suspect your 220lbs is *slightly* different from his 240lbs
@neoncrusader72445 жыл бұрын
@@harrislam Probably. I originally went from zero chinups at 300lbs, then lost weight until I hit 190lbs and could do about 20 chins, before slowly climbing back up to 220lbs through a combination of protein (good!) and lots of beer (bad!), all the while working on adding weight on my chinups. At 240lbs, I'd focus on losing weight of course, but you could also go pretty far with negatives and assisted reps.
@SimplyKomplicated5 жыл бұрын
Hudson, major props on 26 pullups after 2 months of not doing them. I remember taking off 2 months of no pullups and could still only max out at 15. Even with a broken leg, you're definitely still a Buff Dude. 💪🏼

I haven't been able to do pull ups since I was 16. I'm 32 now. A dude in his 60's and a dude with a totally destroyed ankle are rockin' them out... I really need to get back in shape. Wow. Keep it up guys. I hope I can do pull ups with my son when I'm in my 60's!
@reyjo17595 жыл бұрын
hey, it's been 4 months, are you still at it? If you're struggling, having a low bar to go in the upper position of the pull up, then lifting the feet from the ground and then lower urself into the dead hang as slow and controlled as possible for reps can work wonders for achieving the pull up! This also works for similar movements like the Dip. The so called negative portion of the movement does use the same muscle groups, but we're a lot stronger there, because we only have to resist and not actively pull or press ourself upwards.
@ruak88585 жыл бұрын
Erin the Angry now im interested are you still chasing the pull ups?

Erin the Angry sooooooooo?
@erintheangry4 жыл бұрын
I totally didn't get these replies. Yeah I managed to get a few out eventually using the playground at the nearby school but then winter and lockdowns happened and I am weak and junk at everything again. I put on a bunch of weight and I'm getting that back off. I'm working at it again... again...
@kd5nrh3 жыл бұрын
@@erintheangry door frame pull up bar, work with the neutral grip handles. Also, grab yourself some pull up assistance bands from Amazon. Get the set and start with one of the big ones, loop it over the handles and hook a knee in it. Great for doing lots of reps, and after a few weeks working down to the lightest band, until you can do ten with the light band, then you should be able to do 3-4 without the band.
