I got a 79 Suzuki RM 80 out of the trash with crates of parts and frames and had a running bike in two weeks of piecing good parts and other things from the crates and I was 13 and was able to put another one together with the spare frame and crates of parts I have been using and rebuilt what many people think is junk and revive some classics and I am 42 now and I love it

Just why we're these dumped and by who ?. Is the motorcycle era coming to a halt in America. Is there any market for used parts? My wife and I had a small motor cycle shop in England, we could have made lots of money on used parts from these bikes.
@ResurrectedGarage2 ай бұрын
They weren’t dumped, they were just part of bundle deals on the owners search for Kawasaki triples. In order to get the parts they needed they had to take all and these bikes got put on the back burner. The owner ran into health problems and never got around to doing anything with these. There is a market here for used parts and that’s where we come in. We brought these back to the shop, we saved 2-3 to build to get running again and the rest got used for parts for our eBay store/swap meets. There’s a lot of people who just aren’t interested in putting in the work to sell parts and we don’t mind doing the work. (We actually prefer that to working on customer vehicles). Transitioning to a motorcycle shop is something we are really considering.

@@ResurrectedGarageI had a Suzuki agency in the UK, lovely bikes. But made more profit from used spares, no unpaid warranty work, no expensive paper work etc and honestly very little profit on a new bike after all the various taxes and expenses, enjoyable work though. But sell a good second hand part, set your own price, go halves sometimes with the tax man !. Indicators, handlebar switches, rear lamp lenses ,original exhaust systems at half new prices is good business. I even used to buy good used bikes and break them for spares, many trade ins went out as bits. I wish you both every success no matter which way you go, you deserve it working so hard together.
