@@PaulBarger Yes, it's hard to fight a ticket anywhere far from home! However I've had tickets dismissed by driving all the way to where I was ticketed, far from home and it definitely paid off! Same type of scenario except CHP, pulled over myself and 2 other cars, so 3 cars total! We were apparently "following too closely" together going down and extremely steep grade, one lane mountain road with lots of traffic, so total B.S. as literally every car was technically too close, it's called heavy traffic not an illegal act. At my young age I didn't know I could've requested "County Seat" or to fight the ticket/go to court in my own county of residence. Long story short, I only decided to fight it, because I did nothing wrong, and the CHP Officer was the biggest A-hole ever. I'd gone up the mountain to ski/snowboard. About an hour into that, I got a call or two from home...my father was crying and said my grandmother just passed away, his mother, whom I was very close with. I told the officer this immediately, and I was only about 18 years old? He did not want to hear it, even though I started to tear up or cry and offered to allow him to call my father/family to confirm. Worst part was waiting so long while he decided to write all 3 driver's whatever he could think of. I did at the end get to see a small glimmer of a human in him, when he realized I probably WAS in fact telling the truth. He told me, he was ONLY going to write me for the following too closely and not for speed and whatever else B.S. he came up with in his sicko mind. He was obviously a ticket writer/robot and could careless about other human's. That sort of messed me up, I had wanted to be in law enforcement myself at the time, it was my number 1 or 2 goal or wish for my career. After that interaction and another worse interaction with the same agency (C.H.P.) I would never want to be a cop ever again. Basically I came upon a horrible deadly accident and stopped to help, maybe saved 1 kids life by doing so and had to see two other teenager kids dead, in the middle of the road...on their prom night. They made me out to be a suspect or kept me in the back of patrol car forever and asked dumbass questions like they do. That forever made me realize I never wanted to be anything like those assholes. Officer for 10 years here: I applaud your composure and "required" compliance in this situation. Obviously you disagreed about the speed, but you didn't push the matters, you expect to fight it in thr proper venue, the court. As a cop, I can tell you the dash cam you have is a MUST ! It protects you when you're in the right. I knew ALOT of cops who misbehaved, but when the cams were on, they were angels. I left after 10 years, I couldn't take the drama from the citizens we protected and internal drama where cops were screwing eachother over (command staff throwing officers to the wolves). I'm a civilian today and couldn't be happier. I had a great time and it was an honor being one of the good cops that didn't trample on people that weren't violent people. I'm glad you weren't searched in this situation. It would be cool to know the time stamps from initial stop to when the citation was given to you. There is alot of case law out there about detaining you beyond the required time to write the citation. If you're detained unreasonably to create time for a k9 to get there then anything resulting from the search would be null. "Fruit of the poisonous tree". Anyway, I wanted to add that he did the shuffle because he pulled both of you over, and didn't want one or the other behind him for his safety. So shuffling you in front of him is his tactic to keep you both in front of him at 1 time. Cheers! Great job!

WTF?!?! That shady ass cop had the young female pull around the corner to a secluded spot because he was going to violate her somehow. Then he saw you filming and decided otherwise. There was no other reason that he couldn’t have completed her traffic stop in the original spot. Also, the reason he had you initially pull around her was so you couldn’t see what he did to her or what he said to her. That’s some scary scary shit. You may have saved this woman’s life or prevented a sexual assault. I’m at a loss. Thank you for having situational awareness and looking out for our fellow citizens.

Cops often like to do 'Frisk' and/or Full Body Searches, sometimes including 'Females'. Sure they say that they use the back of their hands to do the searches, but they sure learn a lot about the size, shape, firmness of the Female's Body by the time the Cop is done checking out a Female Body. They act that all is OK and nothing is bad with these searches, but if a Citizen was to do one of these searches on the Cop's wife, just watch how much they complain!!!

Being from Idaho, and seeing these turkeys in action, and considering he searched the big bag, took the small fanny pack looking bag, AFTER making her move from one place to another, AND doing a not so legal sobriety test just to make appearances, I'd bet, he just made a buy of some form of drug. It was WAAAAYYYY to long of a stop, and was very fishy. Most "DUI" or "DRUG" stops usually has the driver and/or passenger pulled out of the vehicle FIRST, a back up is called (like a county deputy for safety and to witness or perform sobriety test), put into cuffs to detain, then ask to search vehicle, if refused, the person if failed test, is arrested and car towed then searched. The bags within will have to have a search warrant to go through UNLESS permission given or the paraphernalia is in sight. Never are the bags just searched, one returned, one KEPT without arrest or EVIDENCE BAGGED! This was something completely different and wrong. The fact that the truck driver taped it is why the cop did the things he did. To make it look legit! But to the trained eye, NO WAY was it legal!

QI is getting thin, and I've had a number of Chiefs or Police and one Sheriff tell me in the past 2 years they anticipate QI to be overturned soon due to all the "flexing" that goes on in the field. Legally police also have to be certified to use radar; most departments just have a senior officer train them, but that does not meet the legal requirement. Fun fact most radars are donated to the police by car insurance companies. The best way to do it though is not to just ask at the court hearing, instead request in writing for discovery and as part of discovery ask to see the officer’s radar certification. This way your case may get dismissed or the officer might not show up. DISCLAIMER: I am not an attorney and offer this not as legal advice, but as summary to what I have read and has worked for me.

The officer probably asked her if she had any weapons, etc., etc., or marijuana in the car and if she was from Washington or Oregon she probably did and said yes, not knowing Idaho does not allow it at all. That would also almost explain his strange "sobriety test" with the totally weird hand movements. Since he kept what was likely pot and sent her on her way, he was likely running low himself . . . 😉

driving across the panhandle of Idaho is super sketchy. the speed limits go up and down 8 times, in a 65 mile trip.

@@jimburg621 yep. I came thru there in a brand new tractor [KW] running bobtail and I was extremely watchful for the changing speed zones. Sadly,, it doesn't seem to matter whether they are local or state in some of those areas, they will scrape you for your money if you giv'em an excuse. I run clean as hell and I have seen the bastiches make shytte up to harass out of state plates.

I find that if a person drives the speed limit, you have less chances of getting stopped. Why speed to save time, if you can sit watching him and wasting viewers time. Yes, it was my choice to watch and give my advice.

that sneaky cop wanted that lady off private property to search her car, being on private property he needs a warrant.

I’m confused. You were speeding and have expired insurance and yet you tried to make something of it. Seems like a reasonable stop.

63 on a highway is nothing to pull over some one for. They have your insurance records online and don’t need your card. The cop is on a fishing expedition harassing drivers. You should see this.
@patriotfox71925 күн бұрын
@@craigsilver2146by law you need license, registration and proof of insurance. Which he admitted was expired. If you don’t like the law change the law or don’t drive.

There is a Supreme Court Case Law that the officer who pulls a person over cannot take more time than “reasonable” to effect the reason for the stop. I’m not a lawyer, but the keyword is reasonable in the Court Ruling. For example the officer cannot stretch the pull over for speeding into a half hour to wait for a drug dog to arrive on scene., etc… I would say 15 minutes is about a reasonable amount of time to write in citation and come back up and hand it to you. Another SC Ruling is once you are handed a citation, warning, etc… the stop is over.

Most cops are not afraid of being recorded ; this trooper had his dash camera on for protection against people like you and burger . LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ARE HELD TO A HIGHER STANDER THAN YOU KNOW .
@BillTrowbridge2 жыл бұрын
@@gus2600 Sorry, you're just wrong. It's not OK if ANY LEOs are allowed to cause harm and lawlessness, when they ought to be enforcing the opposite. Unfortunately, the evidence shows that there are many MANY cases where LEOs are not held to even the most minimal standards. They frequently get away with all sorts of actions that would result in life-destroying punishment for others.

If you were speeding, it’s your fault. I actually didn’t see the problem with the cop. He wasn’t the friendliest trooper I’ve seen, but he’s got a job to do.
