I had recenly buy the BR1500G and the battery extension BR24BPG and they can run about 4hours and when I play intense video game less than 1h30min but when the power shut down I close my game and I do other thing more simple on the pc. Pretty good unit,for people did they make noise yes it is true more when is on the battery but is very not lound at all. Apc sell two ''type'' of ups the BR1500G can have the battery back up extension and the BX1500M don't have the extension capability and don't try to mod it because all the wire inside are not made to handle a battery extension... so i have an ecoflow river 2 pro, and i can be offgrid for like 2 and a half hours whilst i play GTA 5 on pc, for me, thats excellent, 800 watts continuous power will last just under 1 hour, so, if the electricity would have gone out, i will have like 7 to maybe 9 hours of me playing games or something like that, if i do run a laptop off the ecoflow river 2 pro, then i will most likely have like 17 watts giving me like 20 hours of runtime THATS more than enough for me to run games and even watch videos. i will be getting a bluetti as well. so tbh, im able to actually get like 7 hours just for running my whole entire setup just at idle, full load of 300 watts for my pc AND my ps5, which is like 600 watts will last like 1 hour or so. i also have an APC battery backup as well, which is giving me another 30 or so minutes. the ecoflow river 2 pro was WELL worth the money. paid like 600 or so something dollars. so i should recommend getting that too, if you plan on doing things. im just saying, it may be worth your while to say the least..

@@86mstar If you happen to be in the room when it does the 14-day battery test, you'll hear the thing switch to battery, and you'll hear a buzzing sound, and then you'll hear it switch back to AC. Unless you're sleeping next to it, though, it shouldn't bother you. What I would worry about is when it beeps when you do have AC Power on after a battery test because that means you need to replace the battery or something else is wrong.

Hey I got a question. I bought this UPS for my gaming pc a few weeks ago. What I want to know that, as the power draw from a psu is dynamic. Does the UPS pull it's rated capacity from the grid? Or is it dynamic too? Like this UPS for example, does it pull full 865 watts from the grid all the time or does it pull whatever the psu is pulling? My psu at most only pulls 450 watts at any given time. My system is 9700k and rtx 3070.
@loadhaul93203 жыл бұрын
No, neither your PSU or UPS will draw its maximal rated power/capacity (watts) all the time. Something you need to consider is efficiency of your power supply - I'd assume you would at least have a gold rated power supply which usually are 80%+ efficient . Even though your PSU is only producing 450 watts to your system it is likely that it is drawing around 550W from your wall socket/mains supply given approximately 80% efficiency. This is what the UPS will have to give your PSU and hence what it will draw from the wall. So to answer your question it will be dynamic, but is likely slightly more than your what your PSU is delivering as it will loose some of this power as it goes through your PSU.
@kb25643 жыл бұрын
@@loadhaul9320 aah that's what I thought. I ordered a 80+ gold 750 watt psu.
@AndrewTheHoff2 жыл бұрын
the life hack for gaming pc's is its usually only pulling max wattage when you're playing a game in an active window, if you alt tab or altf4 your time dramatically increases and your wattage consumption immediately drops.

Have you connected extra battery to pro 1500 via the external battery connector port? My unit with pc load of 110watts jumps hoops during battery backup. Like at first it shows 46mins backup time and then suddenly drops to 39 and 36mins in just 1min. Do u think its a fault ? I explained it to APC support but they did not budge much.
@86mstar6 жыл бұрын
Hi S Seth, it might be faulty but it might also just need calibrated. The trick to calibrating the run time would be to make sure its charged up, and then put at least 30% load on the unit. Also the load cannot fluctuate more that 5% or it will not work. Then let the battery drain all the way down. Then plug it back in and let it charge all the way back up without turning it on( could take 12 hours+) and it should have a more accurate run time estimate from that time forward.

Hi, please could you do a test of full runtime length at your 700W load but then also, another test at a 250W to 300W load until flat. I just bought one of these but am considering it faulty as with a 26% load (around 277W), it went from 100% charge to 73% charge in 45 seconds. With the same load it goes to flat in about 3 minutes which is garbage, especially when the front panel was previously estimating 24 minutes! Either the reporting is incorrect, battery state detection is incorrect or there's something else wrong with the new batteries.
@86mstar7 жыл бұрын
Hi jdtaylorutube, it certainly sounds like you have a faulty unit. I find that the estimate of time on the front is pretty accurate. I get about 3-5 minutes at 700+w which is about what i expect. At about 250w I get 26-29 minutes . The units should come with a 3 year warranty, I would recommend calling APC and seeing what they can do for you.
@djtaylorutube7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the confirmation. The unit goes back tomorrow for refund. I opted to pick up a refurbished Smart UPS 2200 from ebay instead. Shame that I chucked a Smart UPS 1400 away a long time ago, should have hung on to it but hey ho.

@86mstar6 жыл бұрын
The PC power supply is a Corsair TX950w and does have active PFC with a value of .99. While this is more than the UPS is rated for, since the computer is not using all of the power it works just fine.

I think it is about to load 200w on idle and load over 500w when you gaming. so 1500VA is better to keep your PC running safely and a bit longer to safely shut down your PC. and usually 1500VA UPS can provide around 900w max power. 1300VA UPS is only 825w. so if you buy not enough wattage UPS, your PC will shut down without protection. I bought new Cyberpower 1500VA 1000w UPS and it is very good for high end PC. Always spend more money for UPS. It will save your expensive PC and your priceless data.

Hi Bruce, GTX1080 is pretty power efficient. I would think that the 1100 would be fine for that setup. I would think you would really only need more if you went with dual graphics cards and a hefty cpu.

won't matter. this UPS has no clue what size battery it has hooked up. I put a 100 amh battery on it like i did on my old one , and it only used the 7.5 amps like it was the original battery. It was fully charged and the UPS still made me wait for it to "charge" for the 16 hours that it would take to charge their original battery. And then it only ran for the 7.5 amp hours, before shutting down with over 90 amp hours left in battery. 16 hours got me 3 minutes.

Kindly suggest me whether Apc BR1500G in 865 watts sufficient for my specs .I only require 1-2 mins of back up time so that i could shut down my Pc. Tell me whether this is safe for my pc
@86mstar5 жыл бұрын
Hi Vijay, I would assume you should be good to go. Typically you won't reach the maximum capabilities of the PSU. The monitor will likely use about 30 watts, so you should be safe to run it. You may consider purchasing a Kill-o-watt meter as you can plug it in and see how much power the computer is really using under load.

Hey man, you can get that info to display all of the time if you hold the info button for 5 seconds =) Also, that powerchute software is horrible.
