Awesome sound...how much has the performance increased?

Hey man. I did not get a dyno test done to check the performance increase. But, from what I felt, the power delivery was linear and was smoother as well. An example for performance increase would be that, with two people on board, without the exhaust the motorcycle hit 136 Kmph and with the exhaust it hit 146 Kmph. While riding solo, it could go 150+ Kmph

How much do it cost? Do i have to upjet the carburator if i install this?

Hey man. The exhaust cost me Rs 10,000 almost 4 years ago. I did not upjet my carburettor. But, by the time I purchased the exhaust, I had already installed K&N Ait Filter (R1100 - Conical) and Bosch Iridium spark plugs. Ran the bike with this setup for almost 4 years and had no issues whatsoever. Hope this answers your question properly.

as u might know I got a second hand 2013 220 about a month ago. however I had to do some major service which cost me 16k .. which includes new piston and cylinder and engine rebuild, new rear shock absorbers among others. in the coming months I want to make some performance upgrades... would u recommend a k&n air filter (or similar) , iridium spark plugs . is changing the air filter enough or do I have to get a free flowing exhaust too? and this rattling is getting on my nerves.. lol. did u fix this issue yourself at home ? thanks

Wow. That is a huge expense. How many Kilometers has the bike run? I only had to change my piston at around 55,000 Kms. Regarding performance upgrades, you can start with K&N, Iridium Spark plugs and see how it feels. I did the same. I eventually went for full system exhaust because primarily, I wanted to drop weight from the bike. Full system exhaust drops significant weight and makes the bike far more nimble. Yes, free flow exhaust combined with a free flow air filter does make the engine rev smoother and faster. But for me, it's the weight reduction that matters. And the best added bonus, is the sound! But, you also become a cop magnet if you're not using Decibel killer. Regarding rattling noise, No, I took it to a mechanic and sat there to see and fix the 3M tapes.

@@BISONBHARGAVA coincidence or not mine is almost the same at 56000 kms ! yeah I get your point. the 220 is a bit too heavy for the horses it makes and I guess the stock alloys are to blame other than any other part. also its a solid bike and hence the weight. apart from the rattling fairing and the plastic bits the bike seems to be made like a tank. i have a certain early 2013 model.. wonder if they changed things in the later models. also the weight makes it incredibly stable at 3 digit speeds which is a necessity in my book. yeah I will try with the FF air filter and iridium spark plugs and see what it does. tbh despite its shortcomings and issues I still love sitting on it and going for a ride. there's something about it that I really didn't experience while riding the cbr 150 or recently the D400. maybe it's the sound, or the crazy throttle response.. I just love it 😀 and I'm thinking of getting the tools and fix thing at home on a weekend or something. im sure there ll be videos or an article of some sort regarding it

Honestly, 220 was the best touring bike I had owned. It's weight made it rock solid at triple digit speeds. It was just simply a proper sport touring motorcycle.

DB killer attaches at the exit end of the exhaust system. On the Raceconcepts exhaust that I had installed on my 220, it reduced decibel levels from around 120 Db to around 85 Db. That was a huge reduction, eough to let me ride under the radar of cops.
