I hate to rain on your parade, but I got 2 gram cracker pie crusts at the 99 cents store.( not sure if there is 1 where U live, but they were very good, no pre cooking & didn't get soggy either. Sometimes I add another egg ( iff U do dairy) or corn starch to make the pie firmer. I think 2 pie crust were like under $2.00.

Does the metal pan under the pie prevent the crust from burning?
@ATableFullofJoy Жыл бұрын
no I use it so it's way easier to move the pie in and out of the oven- no spills :)

Can you please suggest a vegan alternative for the eggs?
@ATableFullofJoy3 жыл бұрын
Adding 1 cup coconut cream and upping the sugar to 1 cup might work (instead of the evaporated milk and eggs)- and using coconut cream instead of butter in the crust. I am not vegan but I hope that helps. It also looks lie there are lots of delicious vegan options on google :) Have a great day!

If U aren't allergic to corn, U can use corn starch or even all purpose flour to thickening. I use eggs & add some corn starch to things if they seem too watery. Lost of Vegan recipes all over they internet, or contact some of the better vegan groups around the world. 1 is Dr. Amy Sapola, Rip Esselstyn & a big one is Isa Chandra Moskowitz, for example. Hope they R useful to U.

The music is annoying. I'd much prefer U walk us through the recipe so we could follow it easily without music distractions.

I wanted to watch & listen to YOU talking rather than the music. People who do the loud distracting music & don't talk to us or share as they go lose people like me & surely many others.I have seen people's videos with music & a rather too fast demonstration ( which personally I can't keep up with & don't wish to B rushed just so the person can have (what they consider a "Slick" video upload). For me & I'm sure others we like very low music or none & listening & watching the person make the item & then post the exact amounts in ounces ( for the USA) rather than grams & milligrams!! I want a recipe that "speaks" to me directly,clearly,simply & personally. Maybe watch some other people/s videos where they take the time to talk to U as they Mae the item U want to make yourself! I feels like they r talking to U. They r human, real & cute. Some R funny & some R more poised, but all make it easy to follow without distracting music & that personal touch we all want & miss... Hope this helps U become a big hit!@@ATableFullofJoy

I thought I should;d add Preppy Kitchen, since he does give detailed measurements + more info as he makes his pie. Yea I know he used ready made canned pumpkin, but I won't tell if U don't. I made mine with a real Fairytale pumpkin & yes I used some Jock O Lantern pumpkin also. I had to roast it & add brown sugar ,etc. + mix it with the fairytale pumpkin after I pureed it. I made pies & pumpkin ginger mushroom soup with cream. It turned out pretty damn good. I never made it before & I didn't a lot of guessing & testing along the way. I pureed everything after it cooled down then added some cream & heated it up. It was all pureed first. It had pre-cooked onions, mushrooms,red onions, garlic, dark Maple syrup, all spice, combo of cinnamon, ginger, lemon peel, nutmeg,cloves & cardamom + I added curry & black pepper & chicken stock ,parsley, turmeric, butter & olive oil. I didn't add salt because there was some in the bouillon cubes I used. I also added some all purpose flour. Believe it or not it turned out dam good. just a little bit of a small hot bit probably from the curry or the ginger, or both... I am NOT a cook at all, but do love to experiment & gamble in the kitchen to see what I can create. I often add freshly made popcorn to my soups! Things like that just to see if it works & takes good. So far my experiments have turned out smashingly.@@ATableFullofJoy
